ROLE SUMMARY
The Access and WellnessProgram Manager is a great entry-level administrative leadership opportunity for an experienced clinician who is solution-oriented, excels at building relationships, and is driven to improve Access to Care for the communities we serve. This position reports directly to the Director of Outpatient Services at Exposition Park and is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the Access Center by maintaining high-quality mental health services and supporting the Access team's success.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Responsible for planning, coordinating, developing, evaluating, and continuously improving methods to improve Access to Care to address the community's growing needs for mental health services.
  • Manages the delivery of timely, appropriate, and high-quality services for the Access Center.
  • Works collaboratively with the Access Center team to monitor and respond to the various service entry ports, including walk-ins, website, email, and phone referrals.
  • Supports the success of a team of multidisciplinary staff by providing regular/appropriate direction, training, supervision, and professional development.
  • Hires, orients, trains, evaluates, and coaches employees and interns, including didactic training, workflows, and documentation required to complete an initial assessment until the new employee/intern can function independently.
  • May provide assessment, crisis intervention, mental health, and case management services to a small caseload of clients when understaffed.
  • Implements and maintains departmental policies and procedures to meet Behavioral Health Care and organization operational, business, and strategic goals and objectives.
  • Oversees client records compliance and supports the Total Quality Management team in completing record audits.
  • Collects data and prepares reports for internal agency use and funders.
  • Integrates and coordinates client services with other programs/departments and with community resources to ensure case needs requests are filled.
  • Develops and maintains relationships with community stakeholders and those referring applicants for services (e.g., Specialized Foster Care, Family Preservation, Schools, LA County Dept. of Mental Health).
  • Conducts community outreach and engagement activities with prospective clients.
  • Consults with case managers and therapists about applicants presenting with higher acuity mental health issues (e.g., hospital discharges, suicidality). Completes risk assessments as needed.
  • Fosters a culture that welcomes and encourages employee contributions to ensure the team maintains a positive work environment.
  • Participates in required leadership activities, including weekly/monthly meetings and training as scheduled.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Experience:
  • A Graduate degree in Social Work, Psychology, Psychiatry, or a related field from an accredited college or university is required. Must have obtained clinical experience or training directly related to child and adolescent counseling.
  • A minimum of two (2) years of post-licensure experience with the authorization to provide clinical supervision for licensing purposes is required. Experience in a community mental health setting is preferred.

Certificates, Licenses, and Registrations:
  • Must be licensed as an LCSW, LMFT, Psychologist, or Psychiatrist in California.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid CA driver's license and insurable driving record.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • A strong commitment to advancing Wellnest's mission.
  • Knowledge of the continuum of mental health services that can be provided to meet the needs of a diverse client population.
  • Familiarity with resources available in Los Angeles County to meet the needs of individuals with mental illness.
  • Proficiency in DMH Electronic Health Record System, including preparing and understanding program documentation.
  • Demonstrate cultural competence and sensitivity with diverse groups across race, ethnicity, religion, sexual orientation, class, ability, gender, and other identifiers.
  • Knowledge and understanding of the historical context of racial inequality and its present-day implications with the ability to use references and examples that speak to the experiences of a diverse audience, particularly in the communities we aim to reach.
  • Ability to effectively manage and supervise professional and para-professional staff
  • Strong written and oral communication skills with the ability to speak clearly and effectively present information in one on one and small group situations.
  • Excellent organizational, coordination, problem-solving, and time management skills, including planning and managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to respond to and resolve complex problems expeditiously.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build and cultivate effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders to accomplish programmatic and organizational goals.
  • Ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action.
  • Ability to navigate EHR system and other client databases.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite (i.e., MS Word, Excel, PPT, and Outlook).
  • Ability to occasionally work evenings or weekends as needed.

Conditions of Employment:
  • CDPH COVID-19 Vaccine Mandate: All employees must be fully vaccinated and boosted, if eligible, as a condition of employment. A valid religious or medical exemption would be accepted but would require submission of weekly COVID-19 testing.

Working Conditions:
  • Employee regularly works out in the field and an office environment. Employee may be required to work flexible hours, evening and/or weekend hours, to attend events, and for time-sensitive projects.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
  • Annual Salary Range: $88,243 to $99,150
