Job description

Position Summary:

We are looking for an experienced Program Manager to oversee the planning, implementation, and tracking of a portfolio of projects. The Program Manager will ensure the timely completion of projects while adhering to budget, scope, and quality standards set at SCARF, Org. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership and communication skills and the ability to manage multiple teams and stakeholders.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Craft and implement comprehensive program strategies, setting clear timelines, key milestones, and budget parameters.
  • Detect potential project challenges and devise effective countermeasures.
  • Coordinate and streamline project dependencies and relationships among various teams and stakeholders.
  • Relay updates on program developments and potential concerns to executive leaders and other key participants.
  • Guide multidisciplinary teams towards the achievement of project objectives.
  • Confirm adherence to established project management practices and standards of quality among project teams.
  • Regularly evaluate project performance, suggesting adjustments to strategy as necessary.
  • Support team and stakeholder consensus through skilled facilitation of decision-making and resolution of issues.
  • Oversee the financial aspects of the program, including budget forecasting and monitoring of expenses.
  • Cultivate and sustain productive relationships with both internal and external partners.
  • Possess and apply grant writing skills to secure project funding.

Required Skills and Expertise:

  • Strategic Planning and Execution: Ability to develop, implement, and track project plans with a keen eye on timelines, milestones, and budgets.
  • Risk Management: Expertise in identifying potential project risks and devising strategic mitigation plans.
  • Stakeholder Management: Strong skills in managing and communicating with multiple stakeholders to ensure project alignment and success.
  • Leadership: Proven leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage cross-functional teams towards achieving project objectives.
  • Project Management Methodologies: Knowledge of and experience with various project management methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall) to ensure efficient project execution.
  • Analytical and Problem-Solving: Strong analytical skills with a problem-solving mindset, capable of making data-driven decisions.
  • Financial Acumen: Ability to manage program budgets, including forecasting, tracking expenditures, and financial reporting.
  • Effective Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate project goals, status, and issues to all levels of the organization.
  • Quality Assurance: Commitment to quality, with an emphasis on implementing standards and processes to maintain project integrity and outcomes.
  • Adaptability: Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications and Education Requirements:

To be eligible for the Program Managerposition at SCARF, Org, applicant must meet the following minimum criteria:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. A Master's degree is preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in program management or project management.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
  • Experience managing complex projects with multiple teams and stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of project management methodologies, such as Agile or Waterfall.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to manage budgets and financial forecasting.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.

Additional Information:

  • Applicant must successfully pass all Pre-Employment Screenings including but not limited to a Federal II Background check, a Local Background check, a Pre-Employment Drug Screening, and applicable licenses and insurances;
  • Must have a valid Driver’s License and Motor Vehicle Insurance and Registration;
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) or French-Creole a bonus!
