Technical Program Manager
Remote – PST Hours
SUMMARY:
- The main function of a non-IT Program Manager is to plan, direct, or coordinate activities at the direction of the Microsoft Corporate Supply Chain Integrity Team.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Support management of cross-functional social and environmental accountability related projects including Living Wage, reporting tool creation, supply chain traceability, reporting, and forced labor.
- Coordinate projects, making detailed plans to accomplish goals and directing the integration of technical activities.
- Present and explain proposals, reports and findings to team.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to effectively manage workstreams including developing training documents, PowerPoints, data analysis, and/ or drafting documents.
- Assist team in developing appropriate action plans to address identified deficiencies and ensure corrective and preventive actions are implemented in a timely manner to effectively address the issues.
- Research and document global Social, Environmental, and Accountability related regulations, standards, and literature.
- Ability to effectively coordinate task deliverables and communication within a matrix organization with cross-functional workstreams.
- Ability to facilitate workshops or discussions on supply chain integrity with cross-functional groups.
Typical Day in the Role:
- Purpose of the Team: Group called technology for fundamental rights, variety of teams, driving accessibility policy and compliance, building tools for accessibility, democracy forward team, a group focused on racial equity, relationship with university, supply chain integrity, how are they human rights in supply chain, keeping compliance with supply chain, aggregate info across company, share best practices.
- Key Projects: taking complex regular schemes and internalizing and operating them, build tech around traceability, how do they use tech to verify providence and supply chain of particular mineral or equipment, PM skills, multi stakeholders.
- Typical Task Breakdown and Operating Rhythm: 60% heads down, 20% collab, 20% meetings.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Skills:
- Subject matter expertise in supply chain, human rights, responsible sourcing Verbal and written communication skills, problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage one’s time.
- Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, and production methods.
- Knowledge of computer software, such as MS Word, MS PowerPoint, MS Project, PowerBI, Visio etc.
Education/Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in business administration or a related field.
- PMI or PMP certification preferred.
- 5-7 years’ experience required.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
Candidate Requirements:
- Years of Experience Required: 5-7 years of experience.
- Degrees or Certifications Required: Bachelor’s degree in business administration or a related field, PMI or PMP certification preferred.
- Disqualifiers: No relevant experience.
- Best vs. Average: Strong background in human rights, environmental, health and safety, and labor with demonstrated ability to think strategically and work effectively in implementing programs, experience working in big org with stakeholders.
Top 3 Hard Skills Required + Years of Experience
- Policy and regulatory implementation experience, regulatory and compliance experience (5-7 years).
- Program Manager experience in a large government org (5-7 years).
- Experience with technical writing (5-7 years).
