Cnc Lathe Machinist

Direct hire opportunity for CNC Lathe Machinist with an industry leading centrifugal pump manufacturer in their Greater Houston Hobby area. Ideal candidate will have 10+ years experience with CNC lathes. Previous experience machining on pump casings, impellers, etc. is highly desired. Position will be on Night shift Monday thru Friday (6pm - 6am), with weekends as needed or required.

Qualifications of the CNC Lathe Machinist include, but are not limited to

• Understanding and ability to edit G Code.
• Understanding and ability to program Mazatrol
• Mazak MazatrolCNC Lathe experience using 2 axis, X and Z rounded parts
• 7+ years experience with CNC machining
• Experience machining tolerances within .0005”
• Extensive knowledge of precision measuring tools (ex. OD/ID micrometers, calipers, bore gages, depth gages, blade mics, etc.)
• Experience machining the following materials: Carbon steels, Stainless steels including duplex/super-duplex, and exotic materials (ex. Hastelloy)
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, and produce product to meet required specifications with minimal scrap ratio
• Self-disciplined ​

Preferred experience –

• G CODE programming required, MAZAK MAZATROL preferrable!
• CNC machining technical school certificate (preferred)
• 7+ Years experience (preferred) using CNC lathe machines with 2 axis, X and Z for rounding parts.
• CNC lathe & manual machining experience using the Mazak Mazatrol Quick Turn 350 MY CNC Machine.
• Experience with machining castings
• Understanding of casting obstacles when machining (ex. Porosity, weld repair, etc.)

Additional Information:

Physical Demand: Move around, bend and lift as up to 50 lbs. required.

Working Conditions: Working environment will require the operator to be standing 90% of the time in a non-AC environment.

Shift Time/Overtime: Position is Night Shift role starting at 6 pm and ending at 6 am, Ability to work 12-hour shifts, up to 6 or 7 days a week as needed.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $24.00 - $30.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 – 50 per week
