Position Description
Job Summary
Under general supervision, the Program Manager provides leadership, expertise and project management for Cal Poly's new 5G Innovation Lab. They are responsible for responsibility for program policies, strategy, innovation methodology, and effective use of technology to support Cal Poly and customer use cases. The Program Manager is responsible for Cal Poly's 5G program functions, including program design, student and academic engagement, educational initiatives, and partnerships. They are a leading program advocate, taking a broad project perspective, striving to ensure operational success by looking at the big picture of where program and operational needs meet.Department Summary
Cal Poly California Cybersecurity Institute, New Programs, and Digital Transformation Hub (DxHub) support state and national cybersecurity and digital transformation initiatives through education, workforce development, and applied research, to build a skilled and innovative cyber workforce and identify cloud-based solutions to complex challenges.Key Qualifications
- Deep knowledge of 5G/4G and cloud based networks.
- Proven skills in outreach via presentations to public and industry audiences. Skilled in business development and consensus building.
- Demonstrated expertise in effective leadership and project management, specializing in wireless network technology, with a proven ability to organize and lead teams, including internal design and operations staff, external partners and technical consultants.
- Ability to lead teams to develop simple solutions, striving for delivering iteratively.
- Demonstrated skill translating technological solutions into terms understandable by a variety of users; demonstrated ability to work with technical and non-technical staff to identify user requirements and translate them into technology-based solutions.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree and two (2) years of relevant experience. Additional qualifying experience may be substituted for up to two years of required education on a year-for-year basis.
Salary and Benefits
Anticipated Hiring Range: $97,584 - $117,708 per year
Classification Range: $56,136.00 - $138,564 per year
