About the PositionAs a Program Director, you will be an integral member of our team as you oversee and coordinate various canine groups and team members. Our Program Directors are responsible for managing the regional program operations at Canine Companions regional campus.
A typical day as a Program Director may include:
- Advancing Canine Companions mission, vision, and core values in the region
- Directing program to meet or exceed qualitative and quantitative regional goals as it related to canines and clients
- Recruiting, managing and retaining a high-performing team
- Creating an environment of integrity, excellence and innovation where staff is committed to achieve organizational and team goals
- Monitoring regional program expenses
- Overseeing various program departments, including: client services, puppy, training, Team Training, and kennels
- Preventing, analyzing, and/ or resolving problems that occur within the regional program department
- Providing training and support to regional team
EXPECTATIONS:
To be successful in this position:
- Must Haves:
- Full Canine Companions Instructor or equivalent (Minimum thirty months training assistance dogs and teaching students to work with assistance dogs and required to pass Canine Companions written and working instructor examinations within six months of hire) or minimum 5 years of experience in a Canine Companions program management position.
- High school graduate, GED or equivalent
- Current driver’s license and insurability at normal risk rates.
- Nice to Haves:
- Post-secondary degree preferred, preferably in animal science, psychology, or disability studies.
Pay: $90,000 - $95,000 per year
The base salary range above represents the low and high of the range for this position. Actual salaries will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance. The range listed is just one component of total compensation package for employees.
