University Business Administrators - University Health Services
ResponsibilitiesResponsible for the overall direction, management and operation of financial functions for the Department including, oversight of the business office and contract functions. Serves as member of the leadership team in UHS.
- Financial Oversight: Responsible for all financial operations within University Health Services to ensure quality & accuracy in financial, operational, and managerial reporting. Coordinate, process, and maintain business transactions and financial affairs for multiple units. Advise operational directors on business transactions and availability of funding.
- Reporting & Budgeting: Prepare & review monthly financial reports with management staff. Oversee the operation and financial performance of assigned areas. Track expenses and revenues vs. budget. Develop five year financial plans and annual budget for UHS. Review and approve monthly account reconciliations. Use multiple business and subsidiary transaction systems to produce accounting information for reporting.
- Supervision: Manage Business Office staff and provide administrative direction and guidance utilizing performance goals. Train & oversee professional development for assigned staff. Inform staff of process changes impacting workflow. Develop cross-training initiatives for business office staff. Coordinate staff training as it relates to University and UHS business practices.
- Procedures & Quality Assurance: Develop, interpret & communicate University Health Services policies and procedures related to finance, accounting, budget, procurement, travel, and internal controls. Assures all policies and procedures are applied consistently with University, State and Federal guidelines. Responsible for internal controls as it relates to financial processes.
- Other Duties: Serve as a member of UHS leadership team. Participate on assigned committees. Represent the Division of Student Affairs and UHS related to financial performance of the Department. Provide exceptional customer service and ability to develop relationships with other units.
Bachelor's degree and six years’ experience related to budget, financial, and/or accounting services or a high school diploma or equivalent and ten years of experience. (Note: or a combination of post-high school education and experience equal to ten years.)

- University accounting experience
- Proficient in Excel or other analytic software
- Masters in Accounting or Business Administration
- Healthcare management experience
- Familiar with OMNI, BI, PowerBI, Adaptive Planning, and/or other budget management software
