Description
- Assist in ongoing development and implementation of respite services policies and procedures
- Ensure compliance with policies, procedures, and OPWDD regulations
- Creating DSPs schedule and managing time off requests; disseminate schedules to DSPs in timely manner
- Work in collaboration with admin team to schedule guests for all programs (weekend, afterschool, etc.)
- Work in partnership with Shift Supervisors, Nurse Supervisor, Operations Manager and Director to ensure staff shifts are appropriate for child supervision ratios
- Attend LifePlan meetings for assigned OPWDD individuals, update IPOPs after attendance
- Upload compliance documents into EHR as received, update corresponding tracker
- Manage all aspects of interviewing and hiring new DSPs; provide staffing updates to admin team; update agency (h):drive
- Orientation for new DSPs; completing read & sign policy tracker
- Answer phones and provide communication to the parents, care managers and stakeholders via phone calls, emails, texts (SimpleText) and surveys
- Schedule monthly fire drills
- Oversight and maintenance of water temperature check documentation
- Oversight of staff assignment boards and attendance sheets
- Attend weekly admin team meetings
- Attend monthly staff meetings
- Maintain day to day supplies including food inventory and household supplies; placing orders for food and supplies
- Manage gas card receipts for the program; send to Elmcrest's Financial department, monthly
- Complete quarterly QA Review
- Submit work orders
- Send interest surveys to guests' families twice per year, compile results for scheduling
- Coverage of guests, as needed
- Attend intake meetings, if needed
- Purge/ archive files at the beginning of each year
- Coordination of Thanksgiving Care Packages and Adopt a Family, annually
- Assist in the management of daily operations per direction from Director of Developmental Disability Services
- Perform all responsibilities in alignment with the mission and core values of Elmcrest
- Other duties as assigned by the Director of Developmental Disability Services
Qualifications
- Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in supervision or management of staff (NYS OPWDD supervision experience preferred)
- Experience with people with developmental disabilities
- Some college or leadership programs
- Demonstration of independent work skills with the ability to be part of a team responsible for providing innovative respite programming
- Must have flexibility in work schedule
- Strong organizational, communication and interpersonal skills
- Valid NYS driver license free of major infractions
- Personal values consistent with Elmcrest mission and values
- Physical requirements: ability to safely lift/lower 20lbs with or without assistance; ability to walk unaided for short distance; ability to stand, kneel, bend and squat
