The Department of Public Health and Community Medicine is an academic department within the Tufts University School of Medicine located on the Health Sciences Campus in Boston. Technical and academic assets within the department provide a strong research support system for federally funded research. Its full-time faculty members hold advanced degrees in epidemiology, biostatistics, sociology, anthropology, law, medicine, nutrition, biology, engineering, health policy, economics, social policy, education, social work, public health, and the behavioral sciences. Department research includes a focus on the following thematic areas: health equity, nutrition and infection, One Health, infectious disease epidemiology, health policy and health care delivery, environmental health, the opioid epidemic, and global health. Department faculty are methodologically strong and diverse, with expertise in biostatistics, survey research, program evaluation, qualitative methods, dietary assessment, and spatial epidemiological analysis.
What You'll Do
The Program Administrator will assist with developing, implementing, monitoring, and evaluating multiple community-based research and training programs focused on improving health equity in historically marginalized communities. Current projects will include: 1) Tufts COHERE - a community health worker training program that trains neighboring community members to promote health equity and improve the linguistic capacity and representation of marginalized identities within the healthcare workforce servicing our neighborhoods; 2) Hudson Street Stoop - a dynamic public art initiative aimed at transforming a small green space in Boston's Chinatown into an activated and inclusive neighborhood park; and 3) a mixed-methods research study that seeks to improve access and quality of care for people of Asian descent living with Parkinson's Disease. Responsibilities of the Program Administrator will encompass a wide array of tasks including, but not limited to, strategic development, data management and organization, marketing and outreach, representation at meetings and events, research and reporting, team management, and meeting coordination. We are seeking a highly motivated and organized individual with a passion for community-focused work and a commitment to reducing health disparities. Attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving is essential.

- Collaborate in setting program goals, strategies, and timelines to drive effective outcomes.
- Create robust data collection and management tools to ensure seamless program operations. Use these data collection and management tools to track research and program progress.
- Develop and engage in marketing and advertising efforts, which include crafting and updating content for websites and social media platforms.
- Conduct research activities and draft reports to communicate program results and findings effectively.
- Represent the programs externally at community meetings and events to foster collaborations and partnerships.
- Oversee and manage student workers, providing guidance and support on meeting deadlines and producing results.
- Organize and coordinate program-related meetings, ensuring clear communication and efficient workflows.
- Other research-related and administrative duties as needed.
Preferred Qualifications:
- A Bachelor's degree in a related discipline and a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience OR:
- A Master's degree with 1-2 years of related experience.
- Proficiency in Cantonese or Mandarin is preferred, but not required.
Pay Range
Minimum $52,600.00, Midpoint $65,750.00, Maximum $78,900.00
Salary is based on related experience, expertise, and internal equity; generally, new hires can expect pay between the minimum and midpoint of the range.
