Shoreline Happy Paws LLC is looking to add amazing Dog Walkers and pet sitters to our ever-growing team of pet care professionals!

Our team consists of responsible animal lovers - students, vet technicians, kennel/daycare staff, vet office staff, zoo professionals, retail staff, avid hikers, mail carriers, stay-at-home parents, retirees, artists, waiters, bartenders, freelancers, etc. We are looking for new team members in Westbrook, Old Saybrook, Essex, Deep River, Chester, Clinton, Old Lyme, East Lyme, and Niantic.

What do we do?
We provide dog walking and hiking, pet sitting, cat care, and overnight care as services – but what we truly provide is peace of mind to humans AND safe, loving, and reliable care to the pets we serve.
We visit clients homes and care for their pets and homes. This could include taking dogs for walks in the sidewalk, woods, or beach, letting dogs out in yard to play fetch, cleaning up after pets, feeding and providing fresh water, scooping litter boxes, providing medications if needed, and of course loving them and providing lots of TLC and belly rubs! For traveling clients, watering plants and collecting mail may be necessary.
We ask you that you drive to these appointments with your vehicle, check in and check out of appointments using our mobile app, and write nice informative updates with pictures to let clients know how their pets are doing.
Shoreline Happy Paws LLC is a growing, established, progressive, and well-respected professional pet care company based in Old Saybrook and serving 20 towns along the CT Shoreline area from Madison to Stonington. We have worked hard since 2010 to establish a solid reputation to not only help our clients with their pet care needs, but also to go above and beyond their expectations. A great customer and employee/staff experience is paramount to us.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- MUST be based within our service area. The closer you live to our clients, the more profitable, practical, and beneficial the job for you. Your time = your money.
- MUST have your own reliable registered/fully insured vehicle and a valid Driver's License-- you will need to travel to/from clients homes and transport dogs when needed. Dog car mat/protection and towels are provided.
- Have a smart phone with photo/video/GPS capability and be able to efficiently operate one-- employees use our app for scheduling, sending updates to clients, and communicating with the office/team.
- Be available for the shifts/availability you set up consistently.
- Be available year round - this position is not seasonal. Please only apply if you can commit all 12 months of the year. Our clients, human and furry, appreciate consistency.
- Be comfortable walking dogs in all types of weather - rain, snow, and heat. We are a year round service and dogs still need to be taken out and exercised. We do have restrictions and safety measures for very extreme weather for Dog Walkers and dogs' safety.
- Must ADORE animals (no formal experience is required)-- we have a formal paid training program that will teach you everything you need to know and get you Pet CPR Certified.
- Must be OK caring for both cats and dogs - We only hire sitters able to care for both species.
- Be able to pass a background check - Employment Offers are contingent on successful completion of a background check.
- SCHEDULE: We have two schedules for different staffing needs that can be merged into one depending on your availability.
- Midday Dog Walker/Hiker: Be available 5 days a week Monday to Friday from 8AM-1PM or 9AM-2PM for recurring weekday appointments. Shifts can be as short as 3 hours and as long as 6-8 hours. Full-time positions are available for the right candidates.
- Travel Care Pet Sitter: Be available for those non recurring but commonly required visits for clients who travel, usually evening (dinnertime and/or "last call") and weekend appointments. But this can include visits during mornings before 9AM, midday hours and late afternoon visits that can be incorporated into your Midday Weekday Dog Walking route.
- Regardless, we work with the whole team's availability and proximity to clients homes. Travel Pet Sitting Visits pay more for visits before 8AM and after 6PM and are very lucrative with tipping!
