Job Description
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize building design processes.
- Ensure the integrity of structural calculations and the provision of necessary structural details tailored for prefabricated buildings.
- Oversee and validate design conformity and regulatory compliance across all projects.
- Facilitate the application of pre-engineered standards and conduct specialized engineering analyses as required.
Qualifications:
- Earned a Bachelor of Science in Engineering or relevant fields.
- Currently a Licensed Professional Engineer, with a preference for candidates holding active registration in California, Texas, or Florida. Accreditation with NCEES/NSPE is a plus for reciprocity and future state registrations.
- A minimum of 3 years' experience as a practicing Professional Engineer (P.E.) with Civil (C.E.) and Structural (S.E.) credentials.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Demonstrated proficiency in building construction design and strong computational skills.
- Expertise in using specialized software such as Excel for data analysis and RISA for structural analysis.
- Familiarity with light gauge steel design, particularly using CFS 12.
- Versatile component experience, including roof, sheathing, and fastener calculations, especially in high wind zones.
- Basic knowledge in MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing) systems, with the ability to sign and seal design elements.
- Proficiency in energy analysis tools such as Enercalc and ComCheck, with prior experience in military high-security projects being advantageous.
- Comprehensive understanding of building codes and ASCE wind requirements, with the ability to adapt to varied design loads throughout the United States.
- Light AutoCAD skills for markup, review, and approval processes.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, are essential.
