Job Summary:
Meat cutters use knives, machinery, and other carving tools to cut, trim and prepare meat for sale. Typically working on an assembly line, following sanitation standards.
Responsibilities:
- Cutting meat into standard cuts of meats such as hams, loins, bellies and shanks.
- Prepare meat for packaging.
- Using straight knife, mechanical knife or saw
- Pull or push cuts from conveyor to cutting board.
- Shape meat and remove fat and defects.
- Weigh, wrap and box meats.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Must be comfortable working with raw meat.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs. or more.
- Comfortable standing 8 -10 hours.
- Must be able to work in cold environment.
- No experience necessary, will provide on the job training.
