The General Labor position(s) are responsible for all activities associated with the operation, set-up, cleaning, preventative maintenance, and recommending improvements to the processes, procedures, and/or operation. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS FOR THIS POSITION:
- Follow & Adhere to all Safety Rules & Policies
- Understand machine set-up techniques for the Die Cutter – (i.e.: print plates and die boards)
- Inspect all dies before and after each run to ensure that any and ALL repairs are made BEFORE the next run
- Monitor and adhere to specifications for each customer order and ensure print quality is in accordance with all required specifications
- Maximize the utilization of the equipment by operating the machinery at peak capacity and speed
- Crosstrain on other machines when possible and necessary
- Completion of required reports in an accurate and timely manner including: Production Data, Machine Operational Status, Safety Data, Quality Data, and any other reporting requested by your Supervisor
- Completing Maintenance Work Orders for necessary repairs.
- Preventative Maintenance
- Installation of Die Boards and Print Plates
- Training for new hires to the machine center
- Ensuring the crew is working safely and report any safety issues to your Supervisor
- High school diploma or GED
- Experience working in a manufacturing environment
- Experience in the corrugated box industry
- Ability to read a tape measure with speed and accuracy
- Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as percentages, measurement, volume, and rate.
- Ability to apply concepts of High School Math
- Excellent communication skills.
- Ability to solve practical problems and not so practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
