Job Description

Under the direction of the production supervisor, works on supporting of and manufacturing of Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (APIs) in support of the business unit while meeting local, state, and federal quality and safety regulations. Obtains the materials required to support production. Completes daily checks and maintains the manufacturing area in an audit ready state and compliant with Company Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), FDA, GMPs, DEA regulations and all local, state, and federal regulations regarding safety, health, and the environment. Assists in the cleaning of the manufacturing areas and process equipment. Perform operations in batch records in accordance with Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) guidelines.

Key Responsibilities

• Communicate with Shift Supervisor regarding safety, production, quality, or any other operational issues on shift.
• Actively participates in pre-shift meetings to develop individual work plans.
• Perform daily/weekly/monthly compliance checks of housekeeping, inventory levels, equipment cleaning status, etc.
• Identification of continuous improvement areas, general area cleanliness, parts/equipment organization, etc.
• Obtain raw materials required for production in accordance to established policies. Operate material handling equipment, such as forklift, drum dollies, hoists, etc.
• Maintaining adequate supplies to ensure team has necessary supplies available to complete project work.
• Completely and accurately record data such as temperature of equipment, hours of operations, raw material usage, and pressure in accordance with good documentation practices.
• Exhibit a high level of safety awareness and conduct lab operations in a safe manner.
• Maintain a clean kilo lab and ensure equipment is cleaned after use. Ensure support and work areas meet all requirements for housekeeping.
• Completes batch records in accordance with FDA and Current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) guidelines.
• Ensures all documentation produced is in compliance with cGMP standards including good documentation practices. This includes the timely completion of data entry. It also includes accuracy of manufacturing batch records, cleaning logs and labeling of in-process materials and equipment.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Essential

• High School Diploma or equivalent with 2-5 years of experience in related field.
• AA in chemistry, engineering, or other related technical field with minimum 2 years of experience.
• Must be open able to work rotating 8-hour shifts (1st, 2nd, and 3rd shifts).
• High level of safety awareness and attention to details. Able to read and interpret complex operating instructions. Good organizational and record keeping skills.
• While performing the duties of this job it is required to stand, walk, and use hands to operate objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands or arms; climb, balance, stoop, kneel, or crouch when necessary for job activity.
• Must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move more than 100 pounds using available material handling equipment.

Desirable

• Prior basic production laboratory skills
• Experience working in a production Kilo-Lab or GMP production experience.
• Experience using forklift, lifting devices, etc.
