Production Team Lead

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

· Coordinates priorities/activities for production based on the Production Shift Supervisor recommendations.

· Assign duties based on these priorities and the weekly Production Plan to meet the customer demand.

· Responsible for the safety and following safety procedures of subordinates on your shift.

· Recommends measures/ideas to improve all phases of safety, quality, and productivity.

· Helps ensure productivity standards are met.

· Effectively train employees or ensures that any subordinate training someone is done effectively.

· Ensure that FIFO (first-in, first-out) is being maintained with all materials and components.

· Ensures housekeeping is maintained and all housekeeping aids are in their proper location (6s).

· Any other duties and responsibilities as deemed necessary.

· Supports production and perform Supervisor duties in the absence of the Supervisor.

· Fully trained on all production processes to support production during operator absence/vacation.

· Train and develop operators for the processes.

· Communicates effectively and in a leadership manner with the operators.

· Works very closely with the operators to ensure the daily production plan is being met.

a) Initiate action to prevent the occurrence of any non-conformities relating to the product, processes and quality systems.

b) Identify and record any problems relating to the product, processes and quality system.

c) Initiate, recommend or provide solutions through designated channels.

d) Verify the implementation of solutions.

e) Control further processing, deliver or installation of nonconforming product until the deficiency or unsatisfactory condition has been corrected.

Job Qualifications

Education

· Candidate must possess a high school diploma or GED equivalent with the ability to read, write, and communicate in English to comprehend and follow written procedures, container labels, and safety precautions; basic math skills are required.

General Qualifications

· Minimum of 1 – 3 years of manufacturing experience.

· Good problem solving and trouble shooting ability.

· Must be proficient with computers.

· Must be a team player.

· Willingness to work overtime, as needed.

· Proven leadership skills required.
