JOB PURPOSE:
Supervise and coordinate production activities of team members on a specific shift, ensuring that production, quality, and safety goals are met.
Must be willing to work 2nd or 3rd shift.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Direct and lead production departments by determining work procedures, work schedules, and workflow to promote Continuous Improvement.
- Lead by example in all areas incluoding attendance, attitude, comradery, communication, productivity, housekeeping, safety, and customer commitment.
- Responsible for team member training, employing good communication skills, both written or verbal instructions.
- Responsible for promoting a team atmosphere in each department and across departments.
- Responsible for setting and accomplishing departmental goals. Areas to monitor include headcount, overtime, scrap, and expendables.
- Effectively communicate with other supervisors, engineers, co-workers, and maintain the flow of information between the shifts and shift supervisors.
- Assign duties and examine the work for quality (conformance to specification), neatness of the work area, and enforce conformance to work policies and procedures.
- Standardize procedures to improve department efficiency, spending 80% of time out on the floor, remaining visible, and assisting team members in performing their duties as needed.
- Promote harmonious and cooperative work environment, quickly addressing and resolving issues and complaints; ensure a harrassment free einvorment.
- Assist with documenting and updating training records, attendance records, and performance records leading to comprehensive team member performance evaluations and using the corrective action process to correct deficiencies when needed.
- High school diploma required.
- One to two years of college or combination work experience and college strongly preferred.
- Minimum two years supervisory experience in a manufacturing environmen
