Description
The Production Supervisor is responsible for managing their team throughout the manufacturing process. The incumbent assigns personnel to ensure work orders are completed and moved to Finished Goods in a timely manner. They work with their team to utilize personnel effectively, understanding/developing strengths and providing coaching as needed to achieve success. Working within the ERP systems, GSS, they ensure materials are accurately issued and manufactured meeting quality and output standards.
Duties and Responsibilities -Essential Job Functions
- Maintain and enforce all applicable standard operating procedures, manufacturing instructions and policies.
- Schedule and assign personnel with regard to staff skill and training, and production priorities and schedules.
- Track and expedite work orders as necessary to meet production schedules, due dates for FG shipping and Steris shipments.
- Review WO for closing.
- Works with other Production Supervisors to ensure completeness for Steris shipments, including Intent to Deliver documentation.
- Manage, develop and motivate direct reporting staff.
- Perform 30-60-90 day reviews for new personnel and annual reviews for staff.
- Direct the training and development of new personnel in the group utilizing experienced staff and manufacturing and work instructions.
- Resolve personnel problems by investigating issues; identifying solutions; recommending action and working with department manager to resolve and create good working environment.
- Address machine issues that may occur during shift. Work with technicians to keep up to date on machine performance and complete machine maintenance and cleaning as required.
- Work with Facilities Team, Quality and Manager to ensure the timely review, maintenance and reports regarding various machines in Production Area.
- Communicate processing anomalies and status to Production Management Team in a timely manner.
- Bring anomalies to the attention of Quality and Product Development as needed.
- Adhere to following the Quality Management System (QMS) in accordance with ISO 9001 standards.
- Show ownership to maintain an effective Quality Management System (QMS) in accordance with ISO 9001 standards.
Qualifications-Minimal Qualifications:
- Ability to supervise personnel, effectively delegating tasks and ensuring production is completed within expected timeframes.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills.
- General understanding of all product types processed through production area.
- General understanding of construction, processing, packaging and labeling requirements for most part numbers processed through the production area, with a detailed understanding in one or more areas of production.
- Informed understanding of SOPs that impact general employee and quality activities.
- Informed understanding of GSS system with regard to logging into shifts, workorder creation, processing and review, reading and analysis of shipping dashboard, and issuing materials.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bilingual, Spanish and English
- Post high school education in trade, business or related field
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Experience with Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
- Basic math and algebra skills

Pay: $53,781.77 - $65,156.54 per year
