PRODUCTION SUPERVISOR
RESPONSIBLE TO: General Manager
FUNCTION: Directs specified workforce in the manufacturing of products by supervising staff, organizing and monitoring work flow.
SPECIFIC DUTIES:
- Accomplishes manufacturing results by communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results; coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; initiating, coordinating, and enforcing systems, policies, and procedures.
- Maintains staff by assisting with recruiting, selecting, orientating, and training employees; develops personal growth opportunities.
- Maintains work flow by monitoring steps in the process; sets processing variables, observes control points and equipment, monitors personnel and equipment, and initiates and maintains a spirit of cooperation within and between departments.
- Completes production plan by scheduling and assigning personnel, monitors progress, resolves problems, and reports results in the assigned manner.
- Maintains quality service by establishing and enforcing organization standards.
- Ensures operation of equipment by calling for repairs when needed.
- Evaluates and participates in the installation of new equipment and techniques as needed.
- Maintains safe and clean work environment by educating and directing personnel on the use of all control points, equipment, and resources.
- Maintains compliance with established policies and procedures.
- Resolves personnel problems by analyzing data, investigation of the issues, identifying solutions, and recommending the action to be taken.
- Contributes to team effort by accomplishing results as needed.
- Complete other duties at the discretion of management.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILILTIES:
Good skills for managing processes, process improvement, production planning, controls and instrumentation; ability to deal with complexity and conflict; working computer and math skills; good supervisory and coaching skills; ability to read tape measure and other measuring devices; ability to lift up to 50 pounds; ability to work with minimal supervision; self-motivated; good attendance. Physical condition commensurate with demands of the job.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
High School diploma/GED with one-year experience in supervision preferably in a manufacturing setting. Preferred Qualifications: Associate’s degree with two years experience in supervision, preferably in a manufacturing setting.
