Job Title: Production Specialist

Job Summary:
The Production Specialist is the technical resource assigned to the shift. This role will be assigned to a Production Building and will become the expert on the jobs that are manufactured in this Building. It is expected that this person is a very capable trouble shooter of the extrusion process and is capable of communicating process issues as they relate to dies, extruders and down line equipment. The Production Specialist will advise the Manufacturing Lead and appropriate department managers of unresolved issues or improvement ideas. This person is also responsible for coaching and training all production associates on the proper extrusion techniques. Being able to relate to production associates in a positive manor is a must for this position. This position is not responsible and will have little interaction items such as, labor utilization, production schedule creation, 9:30 production planning meeting, etc. This position will be heavily involved with getting production lines setup, started and as a result is expected to support operators to ensure good quality is being produced.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Safety
- Responsible for following all company safety protocols.
- Quality
- Responsible for coaching production associates to ensure good quality is being produced. This includes ensuring startup lines pass first piece quality checks and ensuring trouble lines are producing good parts prior to handoff back to operator.
- Production
- Responsible to assist with scraping and startup lines.
- Responsible to trouble shoot production issues and correct the issue or communicate to the appropriate support department what is needed.
- Responsible for coaching and training of production associates with a particular emphasis on new hires.
- Conduct trials and die development as assigned.
- Assist in giving breaks to production operators.
- Required to foster a positive relationship with all production associates through coaching and training.

Skills, Qualifications, Education and/or Relevant Experience:
- Internal title of Senior Technician or Higher
- Ability to work effectively with others as a team.
- Ability to communicate well with others.
- Ability to interact with all levels of employees.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Highly motivated,self starter, who can work without direct supervision.
- Positive attitude with a focus towards continuous improvement.
- High school diploma or GED required.
Physical/Mental Demands:
- Displays consistent desire to do more than is asked to help coordinate processes in order to get the job done.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and time sensitive work that can change rapidly.
- Must be able to work while standing for long periods.
- Able to work all shifts as needed.
