Job Responsibilities:
• Create Meat Orders based on forecast, WIP and Finished Goods inventories, that balance plant operations, inventory and that ensure customer fill rate thresholds.
• Create daily and weekly Production Schedules for Formulation, Stuffing, Cooking and sometimes Packaging departments.
• Manage production schedules for multiple operational sites to ensure schedule attainment thresholds.
• Manage deviations to the plan, to avoid customer shortages.
• Collaborate with leaders in Supply Chain, Operations, Quality and Maintenance to drive schedule attainment, operational improvements and higher efficiencies.
• Work with R&D to understand the intricacies and varieties of uses for specific meat types.
• Drive process improvements to maximize output and efficiencies in Operations.
• Review trend data to predict and avoid problems.
• Train, mentor and coach new schedulers for best overall departmental practices and accountability.
• Coordinate communication to resolve cross-functional problems that lead to deviations to the schedule/plan.
• Drive Production Planning meeting with Operations teams and other support functions at both Montgomery and South Holland.
Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Must have 3-5 years of production scheduling experience in a USDA food manufacturing environment.
• Must have 3-5 years of experience in a food processing/ packaging facility which produces multiple products.
• Demonstrated experience in building/maintaining effective schedules that meet both cost and service goals.
• Demonstrated ability to use Microsoft Office tools and scheduling tools.
• Demonstrated ability to operate in team-based culture.
• Knowledge of balancing forecast and inventory management of finished goods.
• Knowledge of materials management for production/schedule requirements.
