You must have a passion for solving sophisticated problems and providing operable solutions; act with minimal direction and on your own initiative; and be adaptable as you will work on a variety of applications and systems. We are looking for an individual that can implement innovative quality initiatives that will support development and low-rate engine production. As a team, we will create and integrate quality system applications between engineering, manufacturing, and operations to ensure the consistent and ongoing use of quality standards and communication of quality issues. Resolve production issues with diverse teams and lead causal analysis activities to achieve root cause and corrective action.

This position will directly impact the history of space exploration and will require your dedicated and detailed attention towards safe and repeatable spaceflight.
Responsibilities:

  • Establish, implement, maintain, and enforce quality system processes that support products in development and production environments
  • Measure, analyze, and improve quality system performance consistent with organization quality goals
  • Review and approve manufacturing build documents including work orders and nonconformance records.
  • Perform periodic audits of the application of our quality system in accordance with AS9100
  • Participate in engineering design reviews and make recommendations to improve the quality and manufacturability of new designs
  • Recommend and improve initiatives and/or changes that will improve product and system quality
  • Provide quality assurance domain expertise to inspection, manufacturing and test for the Additive Manufacturing and Machine Shop team
  • Collaborate with internal and external customers on quality related concerns; develop and present training materials to build quality awareness

Qualifications:
  • Minimum of a B.S. in engineering/science or American Society of Quality, Certified Quality Engineer certification
  • 5+ years' industry experience in an engineering field with at least 2 years in a Quality Engineer role
  • Quality experience in production environment. Aerospace, space launch, or military or commercial aviation preferred
  • Familiarity with AS9100 or ISO9000 Quality Management System and/or related quality systems and programs
  • Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and strengthen our culture of inclusion
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.

Desired:
  • Experience with Additive Manufacturing (3D Printing) with metals or polymers
  • Experience with precision machined hardware & fabrication
  • Quality assurance experience in rocket engine production environment
  • Relevant experience in transitioning a product from development, through production to operations
  • Shown experience in transitioning a product from development, through production to operations
  • QMS audit experience and quality performance measurement analysis capabilities
  • Six Sigma Green, Black Belt, or comparable certification

Compensation range for on site WA applicants is
$103,230 - $144,522 USD
