Position Summary:
Individual will support manufacturing department by performing a variety of repetitive and non-repetitive or unique assembly operations in the Beta-Rail™ production operation including, but not limited to, precision catheter assembly and catheter packaging. Individual will operate automatic and semiautomatic assembly equipment. Individual will also be responsible for some intermediate catheter inspections to specifications during assembly process.
Specific Job Functions:
- Elementary and routine tasks in the preparation for Medical Device product assembly
- Assemble products following standard approved operating procedures
- Tend machines to perform assembly process on assembly line
- Work at different work stations as production needs require and as products move through assembly process.
- Perform self inspection on all assembly work performed to ensure workmanship standards and conformance to product specifications
- Maintain clean and orderly workstation
- Properly complete manufacturing documentation
- Follow all corporate, safety and production operating procedures
- Other duties as required

- Excellent eye-hand coordination
- Excellent manual dexterity and fine motor control is essential.
- Ability to operate packaging machines: Would require full arm use
- Ability to lift 25 lbs: The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision; employee will be required to use microscope and/or diopters to both inspect and assemble small components.
Minimum Qualifications, Education & Work Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Ability to add and subtract multi-digit numbers including up to 4 decimal places and to multiply and divide
- Ability to perform these operations using units of weight measurement, volume, temperature, time, pressure and distance
- Ability to perform basic math on a calculator
- Apply commonsense understanding to carry out simple instructions
- Ability to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables
- Able to work varying shifts.
- Read, write and understand English and Numbers (Part numbers, gauge readings, etc.).
- Ability to self-train and complete training courses.
- Ability to work in a team environment.
- Ability to read standard gauges and measurement tools including:
- Clocks and timers.
- Rulers (1/16 or 1/10 scale)
- Thermometer and numeric gauges
Preferred Qualifications, Education & Work Experience:
- Medical device industry experience
- Experience in catheter manufacturing preferred
- Experience in industry requiring fine motor skills:
- (Jewelry Making, Watch Assembly, Fiberoptic cable manufacturing, etc.).
- Experience in catheter assembly
- Experience in applying GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices)
- Experience in product inspection
- Microscope or Diopter experience
Work Environment:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee frequently works near moving mechanical parts. The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, risk of electrical shock and UV light sources. The noise level may be loud.
