ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following (other duties may be assigned):
Health and Safety:
It is the responsibility of the Production Team Member to take appropriate action and to effectively communicate where necessary and observations which may impact Lear McCalla's ability to manufacture a quality product and to achieve an on-time delivery.
- Perform work according to established procedures and policies through teamwork.
- The Production Operator is part of the Production department and reports to the Team Leader and/or Plant Superintendent.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following (other duties may be assigned):
- Assure safety standards are followed at all times.
- Assure that quality standards are followed at all times.
- Adhere to the standard work instructions (SWI).
- Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 10 lbs., frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 lbs.
- Physical ability to concentrate on given tasks and not be distracted
- Contribute fully to continuous improvement initiatives.
- Adhere to 5S and "World Class Housekeeping" standards.
- Achieve operator certification according to the plant certification process.
- Participate in team meetings and understands performance goals and objectives.
- Help to achieve team performance goals and objectives.
- Follow ISO14001/TS16949 documentation including, but not limited to, SWI's, forms, work instructions, and procedures.
- Actively participate in self-directed work team model.
- Follow company rules and policies/procedures.
- Ability to work overtime and/or weekends as required.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Participate in plant recycling programs.
- Contribute to the achievement of quality/management objectives by producing product to meet customer needs and expectations.
Health and Safety:
- Learn the rules; understand them; follow them; and avoid short cuts.
- Take personal responsibility for keeping yourself, your co-workers, and equipment free of hazards.
- Consistently comply with personal protective equipment requirements.
- Be certain to follow work instructions.
- Take part in the employee participation system and support other employees in their assigned roles under the health and safety program.
- Report all accidents, unsafe conditions and acts to your supervisor immediately.
- Consider your job tasks effectively performed only if done safely.
- Actively participate in the health and safety program.
