Production ManagerPosition OverviewThe Production Manager is responsible for all employees in the production department, daily supervision and directing of the production lines under his/her supervision. This position is responsible for ensuring that company standards are achieved and maintained with an emphasis on continuous improvement, providing support, structure and training for employees within the department. The Production Manager will be required to be a hands-on, self-starter with the ability to motivate and lead staff.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesLeads a team of production employees. Directs and supervises employees' work activities and monitors work performance. Effectively communicates with and motivates the team in order to drive productivity and achieve company goals.Manages and utilizes various production reports. Reviews daily production against customer requirements. Interprets, understands, and manages reports within responsible area such as throughput, yield, etc.Completes all paperwork in accordance with established time frames or record keeping requirements.Promote a safe work environment as well as meets safety requirements complying with all policies or regulations, OSHA, concerning safety, environment, handling of food products, packaging, ingredients and any related items.Communicates at all levels in order to meet production expectations. Collaborates with the functional areas of operations such as Human Resources, Safety, Maintenance, Quality Assurance, Finance, Shipping and others.Supervises employees to maintain discipline, teamwork, and safety so that daily production requirements are met. Responsible for work effort and appraisal of personnel.Responsible for scheduling, tracking attendance, and reviewing and approving time off for their direct reports.Promotes a cooperative and harmonious environment in order to facilitate positive employee morale, productivity, and continued improvement.Maintains inventory records.Lead a team of skilled workers to meet hourly and daily production standards and goals.Oversee the cleanliness and general order of lines and production areas.Effectively and proactively communicate status related to safety, quality, personnel, equipment, and/or inventory to appropriate management.Qualifications5 or more years of experience in the food manufacturing industry.5 or more years of leadership experience in the manufacturing industry, including scheduling, managing employee performance and directing employee’s day-to-day activities.Experience with Tray Sealer/Thermoforming/Flow wrapping a plus.Knowledge of food manufacturing processes, including, but not limited to HACCP, SOPs, SSOPs, company policies, as well as demonstrated communication skills.Strict adherence to all safety, food safety and GMP protocols.Commitment to meeting and exceeding quality standards and customer specifications.Ability to quickly solve problems through critical thinking.
