ESU #3 Student Services Department is excited to be adding an Early Learning Connection Bilingual (English-Spanish) Professional Development Coordinator to our early childhood team!

ESU #3 Early Learning Connection (ELC) PD Omaha Region works collaboratively within the counties of Cass, Douglas, Sarpy and Washington to ensure a wide variety of early childhood professional development activities are planned and implemented in response to the needs of those who work with children birth through age eight in center, home, preschool, and out of school time programs. Salary for this 210 day position will be negotiable based on education and experience, within the range of $58,000-$62,000 annually. Education/Experience Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Early Childhood or a related field
- Knowledge of and previous work experience in early childhood care and education
Essential Requirements:
- Bilingual: fluent in Spanish and English, possessing excellent written and verbal communication skills in both languages
- Demonstrated skills and experience in face-to-face and online training and adult learning facilitation
- Computer skills consistent with essential job responsibilities
- No history of child abuse or negligence
- Successfully pass required background checks
- Regular and dependable in person attendance is required and is considered a condition of employment. The assigned duties of this position may allow consideration of occasional/infrequent remote work with the approval of the supervisor. Remote work is subject to the remote work guidelines and conditions outlined in the job description. The supervisor may withdraw the remote work option at any time.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Understand and comply with the ESU #3 Board of Education Personnel Policies and Employee Handbook.
- Assist Coordinator with the facilitation and delivery of professional development opportunities including those for bilingual early childhood educators.
- Assist in coordinating the work of the ELC PD team which includes contracted trainers.
- Support trainers in the development of program materials for face-to-face and online professional development opportunities.
- Assist with onsite, offsite, or online events, as requested, occurring during the day, in the evening, or on weekends
- Develop and maintain relationships with grant partners including, but not limited to, attending regularly scheduled partnership meetings.
- Represent ESU #3 Early Learning Connection PD at various meetings and events.
- Must have reliable transportation to travel to various trainings and/or meetings at off-site locations.
- Assist with determining professional development needs identified by early childhood educators, especially those who are bilingual, and grant partners and use these findings to collaboratively develop an annual Professional Development Strategic Plan.
- Assist with completing the annual grant continuation application and grant reports, as requested.
- Participate in scheduled NDE Office of Early Childhood and ELC meetings and calls.
- Articulate, through word and action, the significant relationship between professional development and the quality of early care and education provided.
- Regularly access the e-mail system for review of materials distributed from ESU #3.
- Other duties as assigned.
