Production Manager

Established in 1997, Pacific Architectural Wood Products (PAWP) is a privately held corporation, dedicated to providing commercial doors, primarily for the tenant improvement market. Our management, sales and engineering groups, comprise over 150 years of combined experience in the architectural wood door, finishing, and veneer market.

What would you be doing?

The Production Manager will plan, direct, or coordinate the work activities and resources necessary for manufacturing products in accordance with cost, quality, and quantity specifications.

Requirements:


Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Guides, assigns, schedules and supervises the day to day work of employees as assigned to the department, in addition to ensuring work is completed on schedule.
  • Conduct job evaluations based on performance and goals set in a timely and constructive manner.
  • Ensures each assigned worker follows all safety standards.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Set and monitor product standards, examining samples of raw products or directing testing during processing, to ensure finished products are of prescribed quality.
  • Direct or coordinate production, processing, or distribution activities of industrial organizations.
  • Review processing schedules or production orders to make decisions concerning inventory requirements, staffing requirements, work procedures, or duty assignments, considering budgetary limitations and time constraints.
  • Review operations and confer with technical or administrative staff to resolve production or processing problems.
  • Hire, train, evaluate, or discharge staff or resolve personnel grievances.
  • Develop or implement production tracking or quality control systems, analyzing production, quality control, maintenance, or other operational reports to detect production problems.
  • Review plans and confer with research or support staff to develop new products or processes.
  • Develop budgets or approve expenditures for supplies, materials, or human resources, ensuring that materials, labor, or equipment are used efficiently to meet production targets.
  • Maintain current knowledge of the quality control field, relying on current literature pertaining to materials use, technological advances, or statistical studies.
  • Coordinate or recommend procedures for facility or equipment maintenance or modification, including the replacement of machines.
  • Conduct site audits to ensure adherence to safety and environmental regulations.
  • Develop or enforce procedures for normal operation of manufacturing systems.
  • Implement operational and emergency procedures.
  • Optimize operational costs and productivity consistent with safety and environmental rules and regulations.
  • Prepare reports on operations and system productivity or efficiency.
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Quality control analysis by conducting tests and inspections of products, services, or processes to evaluate quality or performance.
  • Production and processing with knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods.
  • Administration and management with knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, human resources modeling, leadership technique, production methods, and coordination of people and resources.
  • Customer and personal service with knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.
  • Engineering and technology with knowledge of the practical application of engineering science and technology. This includes applying principles, techniques, procedures, and equipment to the design and production of various goods and services.

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • At least five (5) years of related experience required.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to stand for long periods of time, bend, climb, stretch, reach, and lean to perform tasks at all machines.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.

Consistent day-shift schedule M-F 6am-2:30pm (beat the traffic)!

Starting Pay: Negotiable with experience
