Responsibilities
  • Ensure production schedules are met and products are produced on time, within budget, and according to quality specifications. Manage team schedules and establish production priorities.
  • Establish production goals and coordinate plans including key metrics to ensure these goals are executed daily, weekly, monthly and on annual production schedules.
  • Apply principles of Lean manufacturing and continuous improvement coupled with the mission, vision and values of Torus. Establish and manage the workflows supporting the production of a product or process.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement, encouraging innovation and leading initiatives to enhance production processes and product quality.
  • Oversee the daily production floor activities. Manage, develop and mentor production team members, including hiring, training, performance evaluation, and disciplinary actions. Support team members as questions or concerns arise.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations, maintaining a safe workplace and promoting a culture of safety among employees. Maintain clean and hygienic conditions across the operation.
  • Ensure team members are properly trained and that they are operating all equipment in a safe manner according to established operating procedures.
  • Take responsibility for all production floor equipment and ensure that each piece of equipment is properly maintained and operated by qualified team members. Oversee the set-up machines and re-tooling to support new products.
  • Oversee the auditing and reporting of current inventory levels while making recommendations for restocking and ordering. Verify that proper raw material inventories are maintained to support production.
  • Warrant the quality assurance of produced materials or goods.
  • Produce and analyze product data and reports.
  • Communicate with other departments, such as the financial department to establish budgets, HR department to hire new workers, or supply chain to ensure the delivery of raw materials and products.
  • Present means and methods to reduce production and operational costs while improving efficiency across all production lines.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Experience You’ll Need
  • Bachelor’s degree and/or demonstrated and related equivalent experience. CPIM or a related certification is a plus.
  • 5+ years of experience operating a successful manufacturing line and applying industry best practices. Experience should include recent production management role(s) or similar experience. Experience working in general product manufacturing such as commercial/industrial electrical goods is preferred.
  • Ability to successfully monitor and report on key production metrics and output, identifying opportunities for improvement and implementing strategies for efficiency.
  • Proficient in Google Suite, MS Office and ERP (Business Central/NetSuite) software.
  • Well-honed project management skills, including adept decision-making, problem-solving and strategic planning abilities.
  • Proven experience operating a clean, safe and efficient production environment.
  • Understanding of quality standards and health & safety regulations.
  • Knowledge of performance evaluation and budgeting concepts.
  • Familiarity with bookkeeping, inventory control practices and logistics.
  • Excellent leadership skills, including the abilities to set goals, motivate and manage competing priorities or opinions.
  • Effective communication skills, including writing, speaking and active listening.
  • Great interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent hands on organizational and leaderships skills.
  • Proven ability to provide alignment among diverse teams and create a culture of success.
  • Forklift operation/certification.

This position works in an air-conditioned warehouse/manufacturing and cleanroom environments. A break area is available with refrigerator access, microwave, coffee maker, and drink/snack machines.

Physical Requirements
  • Must have the ability to safely lift and move objects weighing up to 50 lbs.
  • Must be capable of standing, bending, and executing repetitive tasks for prolonged periods of time.
  • Ability to read, identify, observe and recognize details, color-coding and fine print at close range on associated engineering drawings.
  • Occasionally required to don personal protective equipment to include, but not limited to, respiratory protective equipment with proper seal, coveralls, ear protection, gloves, eye protection & safety helmet.
  • Ability to observe, detect and respond to audible and visual machine malfunction warnings.
  • Ability to communicate information so others can understand. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.
  • Must report to work with the ability to use full and unimpaired skills and judgment to safely execute your job.
  • Proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking English required.

  • Flexibility: Willingness to adapt to changing priorities and work on multiple projects simultaneously. Ability to work effectively under pressure and in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
