We are actively recruiting for a Production Manager for our Janesville, WI Production Plant. In this role you will have complete responsibility to make decisions and take action so that established standards and practices in the Production Department are maintained. Directs and manages the work of manufacturing operations team members. Key responsibilities in this position include:
- Day-to-day management and supervision of our Assembly, Automation, and Molding areas.
- Develop, review, update and implement Production Standards
- Maintain day-to-day communications with Plant Director, Production Planner, Quality Team, Customer Service, and Shipping concerning daily operations.
- Support new product development activities working with Quality, Engineering, and Maintenance.
- Assist in component part management
- Review and update controls for inventory functions with periodic cycle counts of inventories.
- Support Production Planner during weekly materials/production planning meeting with external procurement.
- Forecast future requirements or restrictions for production and assist in scheduling processes as necessary collaborating with Production Planning daily.
- Monitor scrap removal and reduction programs. Report material losses on a daily basis. Identify top 10 historical unfavorable items, identify Root Cause Corrective Action to improve on a continuous basis.
- Manage employee performance and prepare/execute performance evaluations. Review employee performance periodically and in an objective fact- based manner.
- Human Capital - Responsible for continued employee skills development via the polyvalence
- Report KPI’s which align with the sites objectives
- Maintain a safe and orderly manufacturing environment
- Facilitates team improvement projects such as, but not limited to:
- Safety awareness and system improvement
- Increases in efficiency
- Changeover time reduction.
- Increase run speeds.
- Actively participates and encourages direct reports to participate in root cause investigations and process improvement teams.
- Capable of working various shifts as well as weekends as necessary.
- Performs other duties that may be assigned.
What skills do you bring to the role?
- Bachelor’s Degree (preferably in Engineering) and 7 years of experience or, demonstrated work equivalent.
- Previous manufacturing experience required; plastics and automotive preferred
- Demonstrated team facilitation skills and success in implementing process improvements in conjunction with employee work teams. Must have experience managing multicultural teams across a 3 Shift 24/7 Operation.
- Must be computer literate and demonstrate capability in working with Excel spread sheets.
- Ability to operate and communicate effectively in person, over the telephone, and in groups, under normal and stressful conditions.
- Proven ability to lead, motivate and develop the operations team. Good interpersonal, organization and communication skills.
- Previous experience(s) carrying out managerial responsibilities including interviewing, hiring, selecting and training employees; planning, assigning, supervising and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
- Must demonstrate strong decision-making skills, sound judgment and the ability to adapt to a rapidly changing work environment.
- Demonstrated success in previous experience utilizing some type of ERP System
- Demonstrated knowledge of OSHA Safety Fundamentals in a manufacturing environment.
- Must have strong safety culture background. Demonstrated clear and strong commitment to promote worker safety.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $90,000.00 - $110,000.00 per year
