Job Description
As an integral part of the Jennifer Fisher production team, the Production Manager will be responsible for but not limited to:
Team Management
- Supervise 7-10 associates and delegate responsibilities.
- Accomplish department objectives by managing team, planning, and evaluating activities/ projects.
- Optimize current processes.
- Participate in the recruitment, selection, and training of new employees.
- Translate sketches and concepts into fully functional and thoughtfully designed pieces.
- Maintain concepts and collection calendar and adhere to product development deadlines to ensure timely launches.
- Deliver on-time prototypes and samples for wholesale market and press appointments.
- Estimate and negotiate costs to ensure that the production of pieces will be cost effective and profitable.
- Continuously evaluate and improve upon gross margins.
- Provide all digital assets for jewelry styles including specs, pricing, and copy.
- Collaborate with E-Commerce and Marketing team to ensure successful product launches.
- Manage all manufacturer and vendor relationships to create daily rapport and cadence of status reporting.
- Coordinate with vendors and team members to ensure all orders are successfully completed on time and meet brand quality standards.
- Make runs between vendors to pick up/ drop off pieces as needed.
- Identify, troubleshoot, resolve bottlenecks, and remove variances within the production/ manufacturing flow.
- Monitor lead time and due dates of all orders.
- Continuous sourcing of materials, techniques, production partners, and resources to meet growing needs of the brand.
- Ensure stock management by maintaining inventory control in all brick and mortar and online location.
- Ensure supply chain management by ordering supplies and materials for best value and timing for production deadlines.
- Oversee the quality control of all Fashion Jewelry styles by investigating quality issues and finding solutions.
- Associate or Bachelor’s degree and 4-6 years in relevant industry.
- Experience in Shopify, Airtable, Netsuite (or other PLM system) is preferred but not required.
- Great communications skills.
- Confident speaker with ability to conduct meetings and lead teams.
- Strong managerial skills with ability to coach, mentor, develop, and train a team.
- Demonstrated past experience leading multiple projects.
- Exceptional time management skills with ability to multitask.
- Detail oriented, self-starter.
- Self-motivated, and maintain a “can-do” attitude in high pressure situations.
- Possess a keen grasp of the Fashion Jewelry manufacturing process and industry standards.
- Knowledge of complex and intricate jewelry construction.
- Relationships with suppliers and vendors to source from, both domestically and internationally.
- Experience estimating and negotiating budgets and timescales with factories to remain competitive with comparable brands.
- Comfort with selecting, ordering, and purchasing materials.
- Skills in drawing or CAD 3D design is preferred but not required.
- Position is full time in office.
- Periodic visits to manufacturers utilizing public transportation and/or walking.
- On occasion lift, unpack, and pack boxes
- Perform manual tasks
$95,000 to $115,000
rate of pay offered will be dependent upon candidate's relevant skills and experience
