Summary:
The function of the Production Manager position is to facilitate the production process. This position is also responsible for ensuring that equipment is functioning correctly, and that health and safety protocols are adhered to. To be successful as a Production Manager you must be able to multitask and oversee several operations at a time. Job Responsibilities:
- Motivating, supporting, and providing guidance to production staff
- Ensuring all safety and health standards are met to keep an organizational accident-free
- Communicating regularly with upper management regarding problems or issues impacting production
- Developing workflow policies and procedures that improve efficiency without compromising safety or quality.
- Interview, hiring and training new employees
- Organize workflow to meet specifications and deadlines.
- Monitor production to resolve issues.
- Supervise and evaluate performance of production personnel.
- Determine number of necessary resources (workforce, raw materials, etc.).
- Oversee and manage maintenance and calibration of production equipment.
- Oversee product quality throughout the manufacturing process.
- Enforce health and safety precautions.
- Complete production reports and inventories.
- Assist with facility maintenance.
- Lead Daily / Weekly Production meetings
- Perform other responsibilities as assigned
Education, Experience and Skills Required:
- 3+ years of supervisory experience and/or industry experience preferred
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Understanding of quality standards and health and safety regulations.
- Good knowledgein MS Office
- Strong project management skills
- Ability to coach and motivate employees
- Excellent organizational and leadership skills.
- Attention to detail.
- Strong decision-making skills and a results-driven approach.
- Must have clean driving record/state driver’s license.
- Prior experience in manufacturing and management.
- Knowledge of fabrication and machine/welding shop operation.
- Electrical/mechanical/plumbing/general maintenance experience.
- Operate a forklift and get certified every two years (truck load and unloading).
Physical Capabilities and Requirements:
- Frequent physical activity (lifting and carrying less than 50 pounds).
