Join our winning team as a Production Manager. This position will be located at the Niagara Falls, NY manufacturing site. This role has responsibility and accountability for the production assets, personnel and achievement of the production-related business goals for the facility. Niagara plant production includes Chlorine (brine filtration and polishing, electrolyzers using membrane cell technology, caustic evaporation, chlorine compression and liquefaction) as well as caustic, bleach, HCl, utilities and loading by truck and rail.
Essential Job Functions and Duties:

  • Coordinates and integrates with other plant functional areas to ensure support in attaining output, productivity and quality
  • Recommends improvements in production flow, equipment, or methods
  • Directs area supervisors in establishing and maintaining production schedules within established procedures and budgets
  • Monitors and controls area costs and spending; minimizes employee overtime, supplies and maintenance cost
  • Reviews new or proposed installations for proper process operation, equipment design, materials of construction, cost, safety and operation procedures
  • Monitors established performance indicators, including variance reports, production reports, quality reports and injury reports
  • Participates in plant and Division audits, interfaces with internal and external auditors and regulatory and government agency personnel
  • Manages and motivates staff; reviews and assesses performance, develops and builds employee skills, supports professional development, and enables employees to optimize their contribution to the department
  • Interprets specifications and makes judgments about the acceptability of production in their defined process area
  • Coordinates startup/shutdown of plant facilities in areas of responsibility including planning, execution, follow-up and coordination with other areas
  • Drives area efficiency improvements through operational excellence program including statistical analysis and lean manufacturing techniques
  • Develops and implements ORC and quality incident corrective actions and ensures a safe working environment for employees

Position Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree* required; Engineering or other technical discipline preferred; Master's Degree preferred
  • Minimum 8 years related manufacturing experience; chlor alkali experience preferred
  • Prior supervisory experience in manufacturing and demonstrated ability to coach and manage staff
  • Knowledgeable of federal, state, and local environmental and work place standards as they apply to operating areas, including OSHA, EPA, USCG and DOT
  • Must have exceptional verbal and written communication skills, presentation skills and interpersonal skills
  • Positive interpersonal skills and ability to effectively work with multiple departments / teams to troubleshoot and problem solve
  • Experience working in a union environment preferred

Employees can expect to be paid a salary of approximately $142,000 - $180,000. This salary is only an estimate and may vary based on an applicant's location, market data/ranges, an applicant's skills and prior relevant experience, certain degrees and certifications, and other relevant factors.
