Who are we?
Netflix is one of the world's leading entertainment services with over 260 million paid memberships in over 190 countries enjoying TV series, films, and games across a wide variety of genres and languages. Members can play, pause, and resume watching as much as they want, anytime, anywhere, and can change their plans at any time.
It's no secret that we want to entertain the world. In order to do that we first must hire and develop the best people, starting with university students.
If you have a passion for solving challenging problems, are capable of thinking quickly in a fast-paced environment, are eager to learn how to build scalable robust programs and initiatives while collaborating with top industry professionals, and are excited at the prospect of having a significant impact on productions that over 260 million viewers tune into, then we want to talk to you.
The Content Operations & Innovation organization at Netflix supports content to thrill members with efficient operational workflows and execution while leveraging our scale and innovating to deliver more value on screen. Within this organization, we are looking to host one intern on the Production Health & Safety team during Summer 2024. The Netflix PH&S team is responsible for ensuring productions maintain regulatory compliance, and abide by industry-standard health and safety best practices in the UCAN (United States/Canada) region. The team is unique as it consists of professionals who come from a variety of backgrounds and expertise including ex-firefighters, medics, military veterans, production staff, and public health professionals, in addition to subject matter experts in firearms, aviation, lasers, weapons, precision driving, fire prevention, and so much more.
As an intern, you'll facilitate departmental needs and will participate in a program that provides training and development intended to give you the skill set necessary to become a strong candidate for future entry-level positions in the Production Health & Safety sector.
You do not need prior experience to apply; once you submit your application, you'll receive an email inviting you to complete your application by filling out an Airtable form. You'll also be asked to submit a 300-word maximum statement of intent (preferably in PDF format) within the form using the following prompt: As a Production Health & Safety team, we collaborate with industry professionals (e.g. Directors, Producers, Stunts, Special Effects, etc.) to make the impossible possible by bringing the creative vision to life, all while ensuring our cast & crew go home safely at the end of the day. At Netflix, we take it upon ourselves to think outside of the box of what traditional safety is when applying it to our productions. Write a statement about what specifically jumped out at you when learning about this role, why you are excited to learn more about Production Health & Safety, and what previous experience you can draw upon that would apply.
This posting will be open for a very limited time and will be closed for new applications by February 9, so if you're interested, please submit your application as soon as possible.
The Summer Internship
At Netflix, we offer a personalized experience for interns, and our aim is to offer an experience that mimics what it is like to actually work here. We match qualified interns with projects and groups based on interests and skills and fully embed interns within those groups for the summer. Netflix is a unique place to work and we live by our values, so it's worth learning more about our culture.
Internships are paid and are a minimum of 12 weeks, with a choice of a couple of fixed start dates in June to accommodate varying school calendars. Conditions permitting, our Summer internship in 2024 for Production Health & Safety will be located in our Los Angeles, CA, office.
At Netflix, we carefully consider a wide range of compensation factors to determine the intern top of market. We rely on market indicators to determine compensation and consider your specific internship team, degree, and years of education to get it right. These considerations can cause your compensation to vary and will also be dependent on your location.
The overall market range for Netflix Internships in Content is typically $20/hour - $40/hour.
This market range is based on total compensation (vs. only hourly rate), which is in line with our compensation philosophy.
