As the future of BlueOval SK, you will help lead the battery revolution by working alongside our teams as we build the batteries required for electric vehicle business excellence.
Ford and SK On are investing billions in Kentucky and Tennessee including building three state-of-the art battery manufacturing facilities between the two campuses at BlueOval City in Tennessee and BlueOval SK Battery Park in Kentucky. These brand-new advanced manufacturing facilities will use Ford’s 100-years of automobile manufacturing expertise and SK On’s 30+ years of electric vehicle battery expertise to become the world’s best battery manufacturer.
The Production Control Team Manager at BlueOval SK – BlueOval Battery Park in Glendale, Kentucky will have a unique, once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to be a key member of the start-up team, launching the facility from the ground up.
Key Areas of Responsibility:
This role will be responsible for leading a Production Control team of hourly and salaried employees at the facility including, but not limited to:
- Provide leadership and functional knowledge around BIW inventory control, efficient production scheduling and distribution, change control, BoM, inventory analysis and management, scrap/recycling yield, forward model launch planning, capacity planning, and float planning.
- Manage the business with policy deployment objectives implementation plans, and proper accountability.
- Conduct department reviews, which include status and improvement actions for safety, quality, delivery, cost, people, maintenance, environment and launch.
- Maintain departmental budget and implement plans for continuous improvement in logistics, labor and overhead accounts.
- Support the BOSK Production System principles through synchronous material flow and lean manufacturing implementation.
- Develop and implement processes to ensure the effective training and development of department personnel and create developmental opportunities for direct reports.
- Administer salary performance reviews, reward and recognize, and address any needed corrective actions.
- Review, evaluate and implement future plans for new programs, which may include modification of plant equipment, resources, and/or facilities to determine the effect on operations.
- Provide direction and support to Production Control personnel for operations.
- Work with our hourly partners to address any departmental issues or departmental opportunities.

Minimum Requirements:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Material Planning and Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Industrial Operations.
- Strong ability to interface with plant hourly, salaried personnel and plant management
- Previous plant leadership experience in a materials planning and/or supply chain role (minimum 5 years).
- Strong ability to present in front of plant leadership
- Ability to teach Production System principles
- Competent in the use of data for decision making
- Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
- Excellent leadership skills with demonstrate ability to resolve diverse problems.
- Ability to work independently with limited supervision
- React well under pressure and be able to work under crisis management
- Strong analytical skills and quick decision-making capability
- Candidate must be flexible to travel during initial plant start-up phase
- Successful candidate must be able to demonstrate leadership behaviors consisting of outstanding interpersonal, teambuilding, and communication skills
Preferred Requirements:
- Education: : Master’s degree in Business, Material Planning and Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Industrial Operations.
- Practical working knowledge of Ford production part number & naming nomenclature, manufacturing and assembly plant processes, understanding of synchronous material flow, lean manufacturing knowledge, and experience for material replenishment desired.
- Knowledge of CMMS, TWO’s, SMART, CPAR’s, SFR, OSHIM
