Hino Motors Manufacturing U.S.A. Inc. is a wholly owned subsidiary of Hino Motors, Ltd. (Japan) and a Toyota Group Company. For seven decades, Hino Motors, Ltd. has proudly manufactured the number one selling medium and heavy-duty truck in Japan. It also manufactures buses and diesel engines, Toyota’s FJ Cruiser and Land Cruiser Prado.
In the United States, Hino Motors Manufacturing U.S.A. currently has employees in 4 states including Michigan, Arkansas, West Virginia and California. The Corporate Office resides in Novi, Michigan. Hino assembles medium-duty trucks at its Mineral Wells, West Virginia plant. Its manufacturing facilities in Marion, Arkansas produces axles, knuckles and suspension components for Toyota’s Tacoma, Tundra and Sequoia. Hino’s Parts Distribution Center in Mira Loma, California supplies Latin American and Caribbean distributors with genuine Hino service parts.
We are currently seeking a Production Control Specialist- US Buyer located in Marion, Arkansas reporting directly to the Production Control Manager. This position provides services to the production manufacturing group and NAMCs. These services include providing raw materials to the production manufacturing group and finished goods to NAMCs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Daily communication with Suppliers, order tracking, and parts shortage problem-solving planning.
- Domestic Parts Order Management
- Pre-order preparation including inventory analysis, scrap adjustments, daily receipts, and missed delivery schedules
- Ensure parts shortage avoidance by maintaining part by part rundown and ensuring inventory accuracy
- Weekly execution of domestic parts order
- Interact with various departments and personnel for problem resolution and to gather accurate information needed to maintain part by part rundown
- Manage Third-party logistics supplier – daily delivery schedules (route plans), order management, freight management
- Front line for all local suppliers (order adjustments, revised delivery schedules, information updates)
- Lead bi-annual plant wide Physical Inventory activities
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in a business or accounting related field and APICS Certification preferred
- Strong mathematical and analytical skills
- 3+ years experience in a Production Planning/Purchasing related field in a manufacturing environment preferred
- Good problem solving skills
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Ability to effectively manage and prioritize multiple assignments in order to meet deadlines/targets
- Ability to identify and effectively resolve problems
- Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Visio) and other computer applications/programs
- Knowledge of 5S/TPS policies
