Job Title: Production Accounting Lead Department: Operations
Summary of Position
As a Production Accounting Lead you will be responsible for ensuring accurate daily allocations in ProdView and transferring monthly allocations to SAP, overseeing the generation of monthly reports to State and Federal agencies in compliance with specific deadlines, and ensuring the team adheres to industry regulations. We are a data driven organization and looking to add likeminded team members who have a strong desire to create and use data analytics and visualization tools.
  • Review and ensure the configuration of the Production Accounting system correctly represents operational flow parameters.
  • Ensure daily reviews and processing of all oil and gas production.
  • Oversee, maintain, and perform complex production allocation networks.
  • Communicate clearly to all levels of the organization regarding the allocation philosophy, system configurations, and calculations.
  • Mentor other members of the measurement and allocation team.
  • Ensure accurate volume upload/entry of over 1,000 operated properties.
  • Oversee daily and monthly integration from ProdView to PRA (SAP).
  • Demonstrate team leadership skills and assist manager in coaching, reviewing, and delegating work to other team members.
  • Proactively monitor variance reports to identify and resolve any volumetric discrepancies.
  • Identify and implement ways to transition manual work activities to artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML)
  • Ensure validation and reconciliation of oil invoices/statements to daily/monthly trucking tickets.
  • Ensure validation and reconciliation of oil invoices/statements to daily/monthly 3rd party pipelines.
  • Ensure validation and reconciliation of gas invoices/statements to daily/monthly 3rd party gas purchasers.
  • Ensure proper well tests are maintained.
  • Responsible for coordination with Operations, Engineering, and Revenue Accounting to ensure new wells and site changes are properly reflected in ProdView.
  • Responsible for coordination with Operations, Engineering, and Revenue Accounting to ensure Allocation Flow Diagrams are accurately maintained, updated, and stored.
  • Prepare and submit regulatory filings related to production data - RRC & ONRR.
  • Validate and reconcile complex SWD/Skim oil allocations and assist in P-18 filings.
  • Other projects as needed.

Qualifications
  • Master's degree in accounting/Finance, related field, or comparable experience required.
  • 12+ years' experience in accounting required with oil and gas production experience.
  • Expert knowledge of oil and gas Production Accounting principles, techniques, and industry standards.
  • Acquisition and Divestment experience.
  • Proficiency in using Production Accounting software with a focus on ProdView.
  • Proficiency in using the PRA Production module within SAP.
  • Systems expert and ability to work with different applications and databases.
  • Expert with regulatory requirements and compliance in the oil and gas sector.
  • Deep experience submitting reports to State and EIA
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong knowledge of SQL and PowerBI is a plus.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, teamwork, planning, and organizing skills.
  • Excellent documentation skills required to support analysis and problem resolution.
  • Must be able to proactively identify system and production issues and drive towards solutions that eliminate reoccurrence.
  • Proven experience as a production accountant and Production Accounting Leader in the oil and gas industry.
  • Must have an aptitude for data analytics to drive change in the organization.
  • Highly proficient in advanced MS Excel including Pivot Tables and Functions
  • Travel: Field visits as required.

Compensation & Benefits
Please note that the compensation information that follows is a good faith estimate for this position only and is provided pursuant to the Colorado Equal Pay for Equal Work Act (EPEWA) and Equal Pay Transparency Rules. It is estimated based on what a successful Colorado applicant might be paid. It assumes that the successful candidate will be in Colorado or perform the position from Colorado. Similar positions located outside of Colorado will not necessarily receive the same compensation.
Compensation:
The annual rate for this position generally ranges between $100,000 - $144,000 with an opportunity for a company-wide annual discretionary bonus, of up to 27% of eligible pay. This role, depending on skill level and experience, may also participate in the Long-Term Incentive Plan with annual awards, vesting over three years, ranging from 8-15% of stated annual target. These ranges are estimates, based on potential employee qualifications, operational needs, business performance to metrics, and other considerations permitted by law. The range may vary above and below the stated amounts, as permitted by Colorado Equal Pay Transparency Rule 4.1.2.
