What is the job about?
Grundfos North America is seeking an experienced Product Specialist, WU GWI - Americas to join its Water Utility Americas Regional Marketing team. The Product Specialist will be responsible for offering hands-on, specialized operational support to the regional product manager during project development and execution. The Product Specialist will utilize product and application knowledge to provide valuable support to the sales teams by solving issues and answering questions and will collect and interpret market feedback on the technical performance of our offerings and translate this into improvement proposals for product line managers. The Product Specialist will enhance product knowledge by developing training materials and conducting training. Generate stakeholder value by linking their needs to the right product/solution. Apply subject matter knowledge and demonstrate technical and business insight. Work within a performance unit and/or across functional area with limited supervision. This position reports directly to the Head of Marketing- Water Utility Americas and will operate on a hybrid schedule out of the Brookshire, Texas facility. Relocation for this position cannot be supported and qualified candidates must have authorization to work in the USA without support.
Your main responsibilities:
- Collect and interpret market feedback on the technical performance of our offerings and translate this into improvement proposals for product line managers
- Ensure all relevant product documentation is updated and distributed
- Establish global and regional commitment to the product knowledge sharing process
- Enhance product knowledge by leading trainings and developing training materials. Provide product demonstrations, gather feedback, and offer recommendations to the engineering teams
- Continuously examine competitor products together with the competitor team
- Support new product launches
- Upgrade the sales teams Product portfolio knowledge and competence in providing solutions
- Organize training of sales and service colleagues with a focus on “train the trainer"
- Conduct seminars and trainings for consultants and product users
- Provides the sales team across the region with the necessary technical expertise
- Acts as point of first reference for all product portfolio related inquiries
- Product support to applications engineering team and distribution partners
- Supports sales to close deals ad-hoc with product technical knowledge
Your background
We imagine that you have:
Bachelors of Science in Engineering or equivalent work experience required with at least 3+ years in product management, technical sales, or related field
- Possess industry experience within a business environment
- Experience working in a large manufacturing environment is strongly preferred
- Strong communication skills – written and verbal. Fluent in English (verbal and written)
- Proven understanding of pump technology and use in water and groundwater applications desired
- Strong ability to influence others
- Solid knowledge of the plans, processes, and activities within the responsibility area
- Proven ability to capture market requirements and voice of customers
- The ability to operate daily out of the Brookshire, TX facility on a hybrid work schedule 2 days per week in the office
- A willingness to travel up to 10% if necessary. As a result, candidates should be able to maintain valid identification
