Product Research Technician

The Product Research Technician will operate machinery to perform in-house testing on AMEC products, ensure product quality, and manage data processing tasks.

Requirements

• Operate various machining equipment for internal and customer drill testing, ensuring AMEC product performance.
• Collaborate with engineers and managers to understand test goals and outcomes.
• Setup fixtures, tooling, and workpieces for accurate testing.
• Fabricate basic tooling for securing or supporting workpieces using dedicated machine tools and safe machining methods.
• Modify test program macros and create basic CNC programs as needed.
• Ensure proper identification and inspection of drill products prior to testing.
• Procure necessary AMEC products for testing purposes.
• Provide timely test start times to stakeholders.
• Coordinate with different AMEC departments for support.
• Operate a fork truck when required.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

• Ability to analyze and interpret data.
• Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and setup.
• Strong understanding of CNC programming and machine setup.
• Familiarity with data acquisition instrumentation.
• Ability to lift up to 32 pounds unassisted.

Education/Experience:

• Associate degree in engineering or related field, or equivalent work experience preferred.
• Journeyman apprenticeship preferred.
