LifeSouth Community Blood Centers is currently seeking an individual to join our team as an Product Owner/Project Manager in Gainesville, FL. This position is responsible for interfacing with LifeSouth Steering Committee(s) to refine or define the product’s roadmap, working with management to prioritize the software development team’s backlog, and assisting with other project-related initiatives.

Responsibilities Include (but not limited to)

- Collaborate with the Steering Committee(s) as well as other stakeholders to develop project roadmaps that align with the organization's goals and objectives.

- Collaborate with management in Quality Assurance, Technical Communications, and Software Development to identify resources, build, groom and prioritize the project backlog based on the established roadmap.

- Document project requirements by writing user stories, requirements, specifications, and generating appropriate issues within the release management system (Jira). This will also include diagramming screen mockups, process flows, and other business visualizations.

- Manage project releases by coordinating with internal teams to ensure a smooth roll-out and successful implementation.

- Evaluate incoming requests (defect reports, change enhancements, etc.) to ensure timely responses to such requests and in resolving issues.

- Log appropriate issues to track items such as enhancements, defects, configuration, and other project-related tasks and milestones.

- Provide excellent communication with a goal of improving customer service and reinforcing positive impressions of LifeSouth systems.

- Gather and organize data on project performance and quality indicators. Present findings at a variety of venues throughout the organization and/or with external auditors as needed.

- Participate in software development process improvement discussions and initiatives.

- Provide training sessions/demos as needed as part of implementation and customer support.

- Must have consistent and reliable transportation and be willing to travel as needed.

- Attendance is a requirement of this position.


Minimum Qualifications

- Bachelor’s degree required


The Ideal Candidate Will Possess

- Degree in information technology, software development management, software engineering, computer science, or a related field preferred

- Ideal candidate will have a minimum of two (2) to three (3) years of hands-on experience working with the Atlassian product suite, with specific focus using JIRA for project management using an Agile/Kanban process and expert-level knowledge of JIRA and Confluence

- Two (2) to three (3) years previous project management, software development, and/or blood banking experience preferred

With more than 30 donor centers, 50 bloodmobiles and 2,000 blood drives a month, our LifeSouth team is dedicated to making sure the blood is there when you or your family is in need.
