As a Product Development Engineer I opportunities exist to work on product solutions to support Arthroscopic Visualization. This includes electro-mechanical systems and their respective components (Arthroscopes, cameras, tubing, powered blades and burrs, powered hand pieces, etc.). This leadership role will work closely with other functional team members to develop and grow the access instruments to support arthroscopy. You will be provided training curriculum including on the job, virtual, and in classroom. The incumbent will support technical projects driving Product Development and value creation initiatives that drive continued success of the Mitek portfolio. You will also need to work with outside consultants and suppliers to support the portions of the development and manufacturing. There is strong emphasis on providing the right candidate with the resources and tools to excel within orthopedic device development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the Product Development process and influence the end-to-end development
  • Perform project management activities: preparing and analyzing project timelines, budgets, leading multi-functional team, and partner communication. Understanding project risks and putting in mitigations, where applicable
  • Demonstrate your leadership, technical and intellectual skills to take on sophisticated issues and projects
  • Provide data analysis and recommendations from testing and development
  • Be responsible for creation of required engineering, specifications, and documentation
  • collaborate with both internal, as well as external, manufacturers
  • Design mechanisms and sub-assemblies of various machine and tooling systems
  • This position is located in Raynham, MA with limited access to public transportation
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States and not require sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g. H1-B status) now or in the future

Qualifications

Required:

  • A minimum of bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field
  • Minimum of 1 years experience
  • Knowledge of Good Documentation and Manufacturing Practices
  • Proficiency in CAD software, particularly with Creo & Windchill
  • Proven communication skills oral and written, and the ability to call out issues in a timely manner
  • Less than 5% travel

Preferred:

  • Engineering degree of any specialty
  • Experience in medical device development is a plus but not necessary
  • Proven understanding of statistics and ability to perform statistical analysis
  • Experience working in a regulated environment is a plus but not necessary

For U.S. applicants, in accordance with applicable disclosure requirements, the anticipated base pay range for this position is $70,000 to $100,000. The Company maintains highly competitive, performance-based compensation programs. Under current guidelines, this position is eligible for an annual performance bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable plan. The annual performance bonus is a cash bonus intended to provide an incentive to achieve annual targeted results by rewarding for individual and the corporation’s performance over a calendar/ performance year. Bonuses are awarded at the Company’s discretion on an individual basis.
