Primary Function of Position:
The Product Designer is responsible for working with the design and engineering teams to define a consistent and high-quality user experience for a single product experience. Their primary focus is to ensure that new features are highly usable by defining a clear, design system based visual language for user interfaces. This includes collaboration in early product definition and development phases through product launch, as well as participating in the validation of product usability through informal and formal testing with representative users.
This Product Designer will be joining the Digital User Experience team, supporting work on the core user account framework within Intuitive’s broad ecosystem of digital products.
The Product Designer is a flexible and dynamic professional who strives for innovative and elegant solutions in all endeavors. The ideal candidate is passionate about intentional aesthetics, the importance of micro interactions, and the role design systems play in product continuity.
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and implement user interfaces that enhance surgeon and hospital administrator capabilities through unprecedented simplicity, utility, and ease of use
- Define, document, and execute design system patterns employing purposeful typography, color, iconography, and motion to deliver world class user interfaces
- Provide both high-level and detail-focused specifications for designs to facilitate communication with project stakeholders and engineering teams alike
- Partner with the Design System team to drive consistency across Intuitive’s product ecosystem
Skills, Experience, Education, & Training:
- Minimum 4 years of experience in product design roles
- Excellent communication and presentation skills when sharing design process with cross-functional teams
- Demonstrated knowledge of Figma, component libraries, and the implementation of design systems
- Ability to bring concepts to life through prototypes (Figma, Principle, ProtoPie, etc.)
