Product Control Specialist

If you have an eye for detail, great organizational skills, and previous experience working in a production environment, we have a great opportunity on the northeast side of Pittsburgh. The Product Control Specialist works closely with production teams, line leads and production management to ensure product meets our client's high standards of safety, quality,and efficiency. This is a temp to hire opportunity at a well known food production company in Pittsburgh, PA. Responsibilities

The Product Control Specialist is responsible for overseeing the RedZone and production line checks, while assisting in label authorization.

• Coordinates work activities of production and supporting departments to ensure TruFood standards of safety, quality and efficiency are met.

• Ensuring a safe, clean and efficient work area for the employees working in assigned product area.

• Monitoring and reporting all production issues.

• Working with the Line Leads and Production Management to ensure product and process quality related to daily production flow.

• Monitoring and reporting defects attributed to their areas through direct interface with the RedZone.

• Implementing process improvements to improve quality and productivity levels.

• Ensuring manufacturing documentation used during the production process is of the correct and most current revision.

• Comply with SQF, BRC and GMP regulations and policies.

• Additional job duties as required.

The essential functions of this role include:

• working in a smoke free environment
• manual lifting up to 50lbs
• standing for 8 hours at one time
• working up to 8 hrs of overtime per week
