Join our Procurement Services Office

Here is your opportunity to pursue a leadership position, supervising our procurement staff. You will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day tasks to include the purchasing cycle, coordination of all work assignments, contract negotiation, and award and review of all work products. As the Procurement Supervisor, you will be responsible for hiring, engaging staff, assigning work, and ensuring that policies and procedures are followed and work is equitably distributed while supporting management direction and decisions. This is a roll up your sleeve position for the right candidate. The Procurement Supervisor reports directly to the Procurement Office Chief and has 8 direct reports.

The District supports employees who prefer a remote work schedule so that they can enjoy their time outside of the District through work-life balance. This role is considered hybrid, which means the employee will be required to come on-site for periodic meetings or work a portion of their time from a designated location and the remainder of their time remotely. The successful candidate must be a Florida resident.

Compensation:
$65,000.00 - $80,000.00

The starting salary range for the Procurement Specialist 4 profile reflects 16.8% of the minimum to approximately 51.2% of the respective pay grade. The starting salary will be based on the education and experience of the successful candidate. The District conducts annual performance evaluations that may award applicable pay increases based on positive employee performance.

Essential Functions

  • Coordinates the work and priorities of assigned staff.
  • Assesses progress and performance of staff tasks and work assignments.
  • Develops specific goals and plans to prioritize, organize, and accomplish work. May perform project work for section as needs arise.
  • Identifies the developmental needs of others by coaching, mentoring, or otherwise helping others to improve their knowledge and skills.
  • May assist Procurement Office Chief with developing processes and procedures for user end guidance on Procurement workflow along with providing metrics.
  • Responsible for development of customer focused procurement guidance documents and forms.

Working Conditions

Physical, Visual Acuity Requirements: Ability to see, sit, stand and lift up to 20 pounds on a regular basis.

Working Environmental Conditions: Works in a standard office environment; may occasionally drive to attend meetings and represent the District at conferences or other events as needed.

Required Credentials for Procurement Supervisor

  • Bachelor's degree (or higher) in Business Administration or related field and six (6) years' procurement or purchasing related work experience OR associate's degree and eight (8) years' procurement or purchasing related work experience OR High School Diploma or equivalent and ten (10) years' procurement or purchasing related work experience
  • Valid Driver's License

Preferred Credentials for Procurement Supervisor

  • Previous supervisory experience of permanent staff
  • Previous public-sector work experience

Additional Details

This position is typically scheduled to work 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, out of the Brooksville, FL office, however some remote work may be available. This position is eligible for compensatory time for hours worked over 40 hours, in a week.

Yes. Some travel, using District vehicle, within the District's coverage area.
