Samsung SDS America is looking for a detail-oriented Procurement Specialist to join our team.
As a Procurement Specialist, you play a pivotal role in optimizing IT outsourcing and service management efficiency, and driving cost savings. By collaborating closely with cross-functional teams, you’ll play a pivotal role in sourcing the best suppliers, negotiating favorable contracts, and ensuring the smooth flow of services, ultimately driving the success of our projects.

The procurement team works a hybrid schedule (3 days office/2 days remote) at our regional headquarters in Ridgefield Park, NJ.

Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement outsourcing processes such as negotiating price, contract renewals, and cost savings
- Identify and evaluate potential vendors and service providers
- Manage strong relationships with vendors to ensure competitive pricing and quality
- Guide established company onboarding procedures for outsourcing openings and communicate regarding required skill sets and conditions
- Act as a key administrator of the procurement system, monitoring and ensuring compliance with all aspects of the terms of a contract
- Monitor and evaluate vendor performance
- Perform resume and quote pre-screening and resolve pricing and condition conflicts with vendors as required
- Arrange interviews and interface with stakeholders to obtain procurement decisions from feedback on interviews and candidate status
- Work closely with the legal team to ensure contract execution and review
- Maintain documentation and records related to outsourcing activities
- Review invoices and timesheets and prepare monthly closing
- Perform other outsourcing duties as assigned or needed
- Maintain quote comparison with financial simulation and report the data for management’s final vendor selection
- Identify and implement cost-saving initiatives to optimize procurement
- Maintain comprehensive data of contracts, including key details such as renewal dates, payment terms, and performance metrics
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university
- 3+ years of experience in procurement, outsourcing management, and IT service business development-related roles
- Proficient with Outlook, Microsoft Office applications – PowerPoint, Word, and Excel for handling cost analysis
- Strong time management skills with the ability to manage workload and prioritize tasks
- Strong analytical and negotiation skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Preferred:
- Familiar with SAP
