Procurement Specialist

Overview

By Light Professional IT Services is seeking a Procurement Specialist to join our team. This position will be responsible for purchasing supplies and services necessary to fulfill our Government contracts as well as assisting in the certification and processing of invoices. Intermediate excel skills are required. This position can be located in McLean, VA or Patrick SFB, FL.

 

By Light is an IT products and services firm specializing in software engineering, satellite/terrestrial communications, cyber security, information assurance, and network design. Headquartered in McLean, VA, we provide support worldwide to DoD, Federal Civilian, and Health IT customers.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for By Light purchasing on a government contract
• Issues, documents, and receives purchase orders for billing purposes
• Prepares and tracks GSA and open market price quotations for government agencies and private sector companies
• Ensures all purchasing is compliant with both the By Light Purchasing standard operating procedures, ISO 9001 audit standards, and government acquisition regulations
• Analyzes past buying trends each year to plan for future purchase requirements
• Processes and reviews new vendor requests
• Works with vendors to ensure a positive relationship is maintained with By Light
• Handles disputes and any issues that may arise between the field and the vendor
• May assist pricing lead with generating pricing data for proposals by reviewing solicitations and completing required price solicitation forms
• May provide contracts administration assistance to the contracts lead by preparing task order budgets and support for modifications, coordinating with subcontractors, and helping to resolve outstanding items

Required Experience/Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree plus 1-3 years of related experience
• Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Excel
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite required
• Knowledge of federal contracting regulations and policies
• Detailed oriented and highly organized
• Customer relationship skills/experience dealing with customers a must

Preferred Experience/Qualifications

• Knowledge of Deltek Costpoint preferred

Special Requirements/Security Clearance

• Ability to obtain DoD Interim SECRET Clearance
