Procurement Manager

Role summary
The Modern Space Procurement Manager is responsible for managing the company’s supply of products and services. This position provides subject matter expertise and is a source of knowledge for assigned categories, supplier cost improvement/reductions and new product related tasks. Your goal is to ensure a database of potential suppliers exists and cultivate working relationships to ease the process of acquiring materials and/or services that ensure on time delivery of new product introduction within the company’s budget.
Essential responsibilities
· Serve as single voice for Supply in support of product development.
· Source profitable suppliers and initiate business and organization partnerships.
· Negotiates with external vendors to secure advantageous terms.
· Approve the ordering of goods and services.
· Finalize purchase details of orders and deliveries.
· Examine and test existing contracts.
· Track and report key functional metrics to reduce expenses and improve effectiveness.
· Collaborate with key persons to ensure clarity of the specifications and expectations of the company.
· Foresee alterations in the comparative negotiating ability of suppliers and clients
· Expect unfavorable events through analysis of data and prepare control strategies.
· Develops and executes supply chain project plans for new product development projects.
· Solves complex problems and identifies innovative solutions related to supplier issues and purchased components.
· Assesses supplier related risk and proactively manages risk and escalates when necessary.
· Works closely with sourcing/procurement, and project teams to ensure alignment and execution of sourcing activities that support sustainable results.
· Work closely with Supply Chain leaders to provide real-time situational updates and mitigation strategies.
· Develops and maintains procurement rules and regulations.
· Evaluates price, reliability, quality, technical supports and availability of goods and services.
· Accountable for on-time delivery of purchased material, at (or below) planned costs.
· Negotiates pricing with vendors to reduce total material cost.
· Identifies constraints that may impact production schedules.
· Works in a cross-functional team environment as a strong team player and demonstrate ability to work with other functional groups to achieve company-wide goals.
· Performs other duties as assigned.
Preferred qualifications
· 10+ years of related experience as Purchasing Manager, Buyer, or equivalent.
· Bachelor’s degree in business, supply chain, or other relevant fields
· Proficient in MS Office, ERP systems, and math
· Knowledge of procurement strategies
· Proficiency in MRP systems
· Experience in aerospace or large-scale store fixture manufacturing
· Prior experience in rapid growth environment

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $96,679.00 - $104,915.00 per year
