Job Description

Signet Maritime Corporation has an immediate opening for a Procurement Assistant. Signet employees are our greatest asset, and we are seeking a talented, motivated, safety minded individual to support our operations. The ability to handle multiple projects in a fast-paced environment is a necessity. The successful candidate will become an important team member, an essential and valued employee supporting the Signet Team.

Duties and Responsibilities

· Material handling and distribution

· Fill and pickup local vendor orders

· Work with procurement personnel, as a team, to ensure that vessels receive the necessary support and supplies to operate

• Properly maintain all paperwork, material requisitions, vendor requisitions, packing slips, and secure all receipts
• Ensure warehouse stock is sufficiently maintained in quantity and accessibility to support vessel demand while keeping an accurate log of warehouse inventory
• Assist with all material receiving and distribution from the warehouse
• Maintain warehouse cleanliness and manage waste packaging materials
• On the job Training will take place to ensure proper procedures are being followed.

Required Qualifications

· At least 18 years old

· Valid driver’s license

· Clear background and driver’s record

· High School Diploma or equivalent

· Be able to lift 50lbs

· Forklift experience a plus

Preferred Qualifications

· Shipyard experience

· Warehouse experience

· Organizational skills

· Effective Communication skills

· Basic Computer skills

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
