Responsibilities
- Provides advice and counsel on general Process Safety management and risk management
- Manages compliance assistance and program development
- Communicates developments in Process Safety compliance to management
- Develops PSM procedures
- Serves as a site contact for Process Safety-related procedures or best practices
- Conducts Process Safety metric trend research
- Gives direction on the MOC/PSSR process
Responsibilities (continued)
- Aligns with EPA’s risk management plan requirements
- Manages the process for filing and maintenance of facility Process Safety information
- Manages consequence review studies that give guidance to site management
- Serve as site liaison for PSM compliance audits
- Conducts site audits for PSM procedure requirements and compliance programs
- Runs facility process hazard analysis studies
- Assists in developing risk mitigation strategies
- Monitors incident investigations
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree engineering with at least 3 years of experience in a refinery or chemical manufacturing facility OR at least 10 years of applicable industry experience in a refinery or chemical manufacturing facility without a degree
- Ability to accommodate participation in rotating on-call duty
- Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills
- Demonstrated understanding of Process Safety and Risk Management regulations
- Excellent facilitation, organization, and system development skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to effectively collaborate and work with all teams
- Proficient computer skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Demonstrated ability to lead effective presentations or conduct group training
- Demonstrated experience participating in hazard analyses, risk analyses, incident investigations, or PSM compliance audits
