The Role:
While working in Manufacturing Process Engineering and Maintenance, you will be responsible for operations, maintaining and repair of plant equipment. Work requires the ability to make technical decisions balancing plant thruput, quality, with safety as the overriding priority. Work is of a technical, hands-on nature using independent judgment within the framework of GMS; focusing on Safety, People, Quality, Responsiveness, Cost, and Environment (SPQRCE). Use of independent judgement while also working with a team. Will involve training others and creating documentation to broaden plant knowledge base.
What You'll Do:
In this role, you will be responsible for maintenance and repair of plant equipment and facilities aligned with standard GM maintenance systems, in order to continue production of quality parts, in addition to the following responsibilities:
- Conduct appropriate checks and tests, and communicate evaluation of results
- Recommend and implement continuous improvements in problem areas
- Responsible for diagnosis of equipment malfunctions as well as planned maintenance activities to improve MTBF and MTTR.
- Understand details of, and be guided by: PFMEA and Process Control Plans
- Develop standardized documents for troubleshooting, machine recoveries, planned maintenance tasks and repair processes
- Meet production schedule and quality requirements
- Comply with the terms of local and national labor agreements
- Implement divisional and corporate policies, adhere to safety and good housekeeping practices
- Maintain frequent contact and collaboration in other areas outside of working group
- Responsible for the effective use of personnel, material and equipment
- Establish a course of action to accomplish completion of the job and/or project
Additional Description
Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications):
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or equivalent experience
- 5+ years of experience managing and/or working on a shop floor in a union environment
- Experience in fluid dispense equipment
- Experience with Allen Bradley/Logix PLC
- Ability to work off shift/OT as needed
