As a dedicated Process Engineer, you will partner with cross-functional teams, in the application of Process Engineering principles to design and/or optimize business processes and their overall performance. You will be responsible for consistently driving the Business Process Management (BPM) strategy within a Company or Staff Agency or across the Enterprise.
We offer a flexible work environment that requires an individual to be in the office 4 days per week. This position can be based in one of the following locations: San Antonio, TX, Plano, TX, or Charlotte, NC. OR This position can work remotely in the continental U.S. with occasional business travel.

What we offer:
Compensation: USAA has an effective process for assessing market data and establishing ranges to ensure we remain competitive. You are paid within the salary range based on your experience and market data of the position. The actual salary for this role may vary by location. The salary range for this position is: $138,230.00 - $264,200.00
Employees may be eligible for pay incentives based on overall corporate and individual performance and at the discretion of the USAA Board of Directors.

What you'll do:
- Lead operational improvement projects that deliver measurable cost savings, improved quality, or increased production.
- Build commitment to business process management and improvement through a focus on effective process development, integrated project/change management and implementation.
- Analyze and identify operational improvement opportunities and partner with key customers to scope and ensure alignment with strategic priorities.
- Serve as a technical leader in the deployment of Business Process Management (BPM) through the application of operational improvement methodologies (Six Sigma, LEAN, and basic problem solving).
- Train, coach, and mentor team members on standard methodologies regarding operational improvement tools, methodologies, and team leadership.
- Work with partners to ensure projects achieve intended results, where risks are proactively identified and mitigated, and benefits are validated.
What you have:
- Bachelor's degree; OR 4 years of related experience (in addition to the minimum years of experience required) may be substituted in lieu of degree.
- Minimum 8 years' professional business experience with 4 years of process improvement work experience.
- Strong, proven experience with leadership, business acumen, problem solving, critical thinking, and analytical skills in financial services or other highly regulated industry.
- Expert-level ability to influence and affect change at all levels of the organization.
- Solid track record in leading cross-functional teams and projects and delivering results.
- Green Belt certification (one which required successful implementation of a process related project that solved a business problem/improved business performance); OR demonstrated completion of 3 Lean/Six Sigma projects.
What sets you apart:
- 8+ years' experience in fraud detection, management, and policy required
- Experience in process design & governance
- Previous change management experience driving sustainment and adoption of changes in a professional environment
