Fuji Vegetable Oil, Inc. is seeking an energetic and enthusiastic team player to join our Engineering Team as a Process Engineer in our Savannah, GA Plant.

Summary. As a Process Engineer within our manufacturing plant, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the efficiency, quality, and safety of the production processes within your assigned department. Your expertise will be essential in optimizing operations, enhancing productivity, and maintaining the high standards of our food products. You will collaborate with cross functional teams and utilize your technical skills to implement process improvements, troubleshoot issues, and drive continuous innovation.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Lead plant HAZOP’s and implement corrective actions.
- Develop, implement, and monitor efficient and effective manufacturing processes within the designated department.
- Analyze existing production process, identify areas for improvement and design strategies to enhance efficiency and product quality.
- Collaborate closely with production teams to ensure seamless integration of process improvements while minimizing disruptions.
- Conduct regular audits and inspections to ensure compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory standards.
- Troubleshoot any process related issues, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
- Utilize data analysis and statistical methods to monitor process performance, identify trends, and make data driven decisions.
- Collaborate with research and development teams to scale up new products or optimize existing ones for large scale production.
- Work closely with maintenance teams to ensure machinery and equipment are operating optimally and coordinate maintenance schedules.
- Provide technical expertise and training to production staff to ensure consistent adherence to process guidelines.
- Participate in cross-functional teams for new project implementation, process modifications, and facility expansions.
- Stay updated with industry trends, technological advancements, and regulatory changes related to food manufacturing processes.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Rotating on call nights and weekends
- Serve as back-up to Production Manager and Production Assistant Manager
QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering, Food Science, or related field.
Proven experience of 5 plus years in a Process Engineering role
Strong understanding of food processing technologies, equipment, and industry best practices.
Proficiency in data analysis, statistical tools, and process optimization techniques.
Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to think critically under pressure.
Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with cross functional teams and convey technical information.
Knowledge of safety and quality regulations governing food manufacturing.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced production environment.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read, analyzes, and interprets general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
